LiamHaith Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 @Sunnyknight would be proud.. I hydro cooled my current build but I think I'm going to go back to just hydro cooling the CPU with a H80i and leaving the GPU stock (whenever I get round to replacing it.. Looking at buying a 980TI, rumoured to be released at the end of the month, should be around £450) Let's face it, water cooling is a nice enthusiast's touch, and it looks awesome, but since I'm not touching overclocks at all, there's really no point to me doing it. Yeah I'm only using a H100i for CPU. I really wanted a much more fancy cooling system but then they come with higher costs for the fluid should there be any form of leak. :/
NB9457 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 But I like shiny computers... They're beautiful, especially once I get all the lighting and custom case I want for it too... I used to be the same, but with less money, always upgraded for no reason, since I've started driving 3 years ago, II sold my i5 rig, then this year bought a new i3 rig with a 750ti to play TF2 and minecraft and what not and I still haven't built it, been there since Christmas It kinda makes me wanna put it together, but then it involves some form of effort on my part haha
HarryMonkey Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I think it was this iDsonix® SuperSpeed USB 3.0/2.0 to SATA Hard Drive Docking Station For 2.5 or 3.5in HDD/SSD Tool Free Design - Supports 4TB+ Hard Drives Premium 12V2.5A Power Adapter&3.3 Ft USB3.0 Cable included: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories Mind you, as it has an electric motor in it, it was probably this Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG MACRO Nikon: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Garacesh Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 (edited) But I like shiny computers... They're beautiful, especially once I get all the lighting and custom case I want for it too... I'm looking at getting either an NZXT Phantom 530 or an 820. Both have intuitive space for radiators (Even Push/Pull configurations!) with the possibility of a 240 rad at the front and the bottom, and a 360 rad at the top! So if I ever go back to 'full' water cooling, I can still keep the case. Yeah I'm only using a H100i for CPU. I really wanted a much more fancy cooling system but then they come with higher costs for the fluid should there be any form of leak. :/ Higher costs, yes, but leaks aren't much of an issue. I was filled with trepidation building mine but realistically, it's not difficult. Just gotta make sure all your stuff is screwed in tight and your fittings match your tubing. For extra piece of mind, you can buy a hydro cooling kit (they usually come without GPU block though) and a gpu block from the same manufacturer, that way you know all your materials are the same (apparently it's not a good idea to mix different materials or something). I ended up going with an AlphaCool kit and an AlphaCool NexXxos GPU block. Temperatures were effing fantastic and could OC my card out the wazoo, but I didn't need to OC it. And then the card died, but that's unrelated. Just a bad card, but I couldn't replace it because I'd modified it. Edited May 21, 2015 by Garacesh
rich_tech Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 a cheap logitech wireless mouse to use with my macbook pro, unimpressed so far as its c**p for want of a better word, keeps jumping about the place even though the sensor is clear of debris.
