ozzy Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Enjoy your festival all of you, and I'll keep an eye out for you all, my first festival at Donington was way back in 1987 with the likes of Dio and a very young Metallica.Pleased my fav the Mighty Slipknot are on and if you havent seen them live your in for a real treat. Getting a bit old for it now but i recon I've got another few Festivals in me yet (unless this one does me in lol).

stu Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 (edited) I got ripped to shreds in the limp bizket pit came out with black eye swollen ankle and cut all over me, and i was on of the better off ones, was amazing. loved each band I saw, my fave 3 being prodigy:eek:because they put on an amazing stage show, thunder as they were just awesome. and whitesnake, that solo battle was ace. didn't enjoy the camping as much this year because my mates were scattered all over the place but loved the bands. 9.9 out of ten and that only because I had 2 groups of mates as camp-sites filled really quickly. only 51 weeks till Download 2010 oh and yeah the devil driver pit was big! but didn't break the record. glad they took the middle devide out on the seconds day as it made the pit to small on the Friday! ozzy Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 It was the "friend of a friend of a friend thing" the guy was the head lighting technician on the main stage and he told us to give him a ring when we got there and he would see what he could do;) he blagged a couple of guy's passes (the one's that go around your kneck) that were on the night shift and kipping and met us at the side of the stage gave us the passes and took us around the backstage area then up onto the stage to watch the set:D I could'nt believe what was going on and nearly fell down the stairs at the back of the stage when we came out. so there is a bottle of whiskey on the way to him.

rolfea Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 i'll be there next year! i was camped in brown, which was hardly full but then it was quite far away. but it was so empty we picked up my mates tent (fully put up) and moved it across the site! Black Stone Cherry were fantastic and really enjoyed Shinedown. Being at the front barrier for Faith No More was a real treat! Slipknot OWNED EVERYTHING! Best time I've seen them yet Limp Bizkit have to go down as one of the best bands and best surprise yet Also, Static X has to go down as one of my favourite bands! Machine Head for a headlining spot next year?

stu Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 Ive always loved LB, you forgot to mention killswitch and devil driver my god amazing they were. killswitch doing holy diver was perfection. kill switch had said that they wanted to see people crowd surfing so me and 2 guys stood at edge of a circle pit and pointed at people looking at us and convinced them to surf we had a constant stream of people going up. I ended up camped in yellow as the camping was so busy this year but i got there just before yellow opened so we managed to angle our tents so that it left us with space to sit and stopped a tent being put there by putting a few bbqs in the middle so people could see that the space was in use

I did enjoy going to the urinals though and sinking three feet. i didnt like the camping that much because of the airport right next to us, we were right by the wall aswell. apart from that it was immense though. id never had been before but what an experience it was so glad i went

I can show put on a picture of my wrist bands to prove it!
