Windows 7 includes .NET 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 but not 1.0 or 1.1

Maybe a component of SIMS requires the older version? 2.0 can run apps designed for 1.0 but there's no substitute for the real thing. Why not try installing the older version and see if that solves it?

I would say if your sad enough and have enough time to contact Capita and ask to be included in the testing of the Windows 7 and SIMS. However seeming as Mr Wood hasn't even updated his current set of documents, I doube we'll see Windows 7 appearing on the roadmap for sometime (thus no Windows 7 version of SIMS anytime soon).

Yh i personally think, most schools will skip vista and go straight to windows 7

looking at windows 7 now.. its looking good for m$ again we can only wait and see when the final release comes out.

I had the same problem when testing it out, but so far im impressed with the fact it runs rather well on a 1.4Ghz Willamette :D

The way things are moving in our school its quite likely we will skip the Vista route and go down the W7 route!

OK Just installed SIMS onto Windows 7 and got the attached error..

What are you doing to get that error?

I've been getting other errors... "Attempted to read or write Protected Memory" is the main one...

I found that Windows 7 permissions don't like me either...

In my case, all I had to do to get that error was attempt to run Sims. It'd say some error about unable to open homepage and then dump that on screen. Running it in compatibility mode didn't help either.

I wonder if he's got the time to try and get FMS installed and working too :)

Wonder if he'll port Delphi 5 to Windows 7 or if he'll total rewrite FMS from scratch?

Exactly what I was getting - just after you login...

Tried SIMSPERM, Compatibility Mode (XP & Vista) - no joy...

Got all version of .NET installed - still not solved..

It seems to be trying to use something thats just not there anymore..
