We all do jobs that are difficult, thankless (generally), where we can't please everyone all the time, where sometimes the staff & students will accuse us of bias - either because of a misunderstanding, or something that's been overlooked because of the amount of work. OK... now the Admins & Mods are the IT Department, and the rest of the members are the teachers & students. Bit or a parallel there. The problem is the site is stuck in a bit of a rock & a hard place at the moment - Where does the line get drawn? Are we a purely professional website, so anything even VAGUELY questionable is not allowed, or are we a "social" community who are brought together by a common career? If we're a professional site - then nothing, however minor, can be allowed. Don't get me wrong, most of the stuff that has caused a uproar lately I don't have a problem with, and find, at least mildly, amusing sometimes, but that's PERSONALLY. How many of us go out and have a beer to many at the weekend? However we wouldn't allow it in school, would we? There's a time and a place for everything. The issue at the moment is one of - What are we? Where does the line get drawn? There needs to be a once-and-for-all decisioning on what is, and is not, acceptable, and everyone needs to be aware of that - and yes, that includes the Moderators. This is something the Admins are looking into at the moment, and everyone will know when it's been decided. Until then, can we all just take a deep breath please & agree to disagree? We realise there's a problem, and it will be rectified, just need to bare with us. If you have a problem with the infractions you've been given, please post in the Message the Admins section, explain why you feel it is unjust, without getting angry, and they will then look into it. If you see an inappropriate post, whether done by a Mod or not, then report it. It doesn't matter how many ForumMods you have, unless we put every post requiring authorisation from a Mod first, things will still slip through the net. We all have day jobs as well remember. Report it, then it'll get seen to, kicking off about it being there isn't helping anyone. 1

We all have day jobs as well remember. I believe that part of the problem is that things escalate before someone steps in. Unfortunately, I think that this is an increasing trend and I am not sure that the number of mods and the time they have available (because as you rightly say you all have your day jobs to fulfill as well - thanks to mods/admins btw for donating their time) means they can keep across the sheer number of threads that are generated here. Thats the only reason I suggested thinking about more mods.

Issue here is you report it then it gets dealt with and if we see a post that has been reported that is about a mod admins will decide the outcome to keep it fair. Second the whole projector thread turned very nasty and we had to deal with everybody involved in it again to be fair.. If you report it it will get dealt with... Russ

If one works in isolation, an outlet for frustration and stress is welcome. If we can't accept that, then FFS!! should go. 2. If it is on telly, in the papers and on the internet, it is part of the 'English' language. 3. We must treat each other with respect - as professionals. 4. Probably something else here but as a free bus pass holder, it has slipped my mind! Let's get back to enjoying this great forum!!

Has anyone considered the feelings of Kermit, Gonzo, Fozzie and the rest of the gang in all this? It's already tough enough being a Muppet (what other career involves having some guy shove his hand up your backside your whole working day?) without having your name used as a generic insult. I'm starting to think this forum has one rule for one lot and a completely different set for another and am highly p***ed off! I agree mate this place has gone down.... all the fun and buzz has died and it has become a boring corporate bland board.. you can't even say **** without getting an infraction... But not miracle workers - a little bit of maturity is what is needed here Yes and why don't you lot grow up and show some maturity and not act like primary school hall monitors .."miss miss he said a rude word"

And i certainly agree on the thought "one rule for one..." as no sane person is going to say "bloody" is a swear word but as I had obviously upset someone at the time it was a swear word and as such i got a shouting at.
