6Foot2 Posted November 26, 2025 Posted November 26, 2025 Link: BBC Christmas 2025 TV and iPlayer line-up offers a whole host of magical moments to entertain all the family over the festive fortnight Quote We’ve got so many terrific treats on the BBC this Christmas. There really is something for everyone as we light up living rooms across the UK with a multitude of magical moments. From specials of much- loved programmes, to new gifts across genres, the BBC is the place to be. — Kate Phillips, BBC’s Chief Content Officer ... Long article - 30 minute read (maybe?) 2
paulkerton Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 Anyone else get the feeling that Wallace and Gromit and Gavin and Stacey blew last year's budget, so they've had to calm down for 2025? Seems kinda... empty. 1
Sonic007 Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 I see there are another two new "Mrs Browns Boys". - Glad I don't pay the license fee. - I'd rather watch paint dry. 1
3s-gtech Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 Glad there'll be plenty for me to watch and enjoy on U & Yesterday
Rob_D Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 Okay not as good as last year, but it still looks like a pretty descent line-up to me. And it looks like the article is only new (or new to the BBC) things. I'm sure there will be reruns Wallace & Gromit, Gavin and Stacy, that one with Martin Freeman as a teacher they show every year (one year I will get to see it all the way through), etc.

Syman_a Posted November 28, 2025 Posted November 28, 2025 not a big TV watcher. but the wild london looks to be one to watch for me.
synaesthesia Posted November 28, 2025 Posted November 28, 2025 Gone Christmas Fishing will be worth a watch, as is the main show (Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing). Even if you don't like fishing, it's absolute comfort telly with good clean (usually) humour, fantastic videography and beautiful settings. Particularly good I think for men of a certain age, as the banter often approaches some more serious topics. Literally the only show I'll watch. 1
NegativeKillDeath Posted November 28, 2025 Posted November 28, 2025 Not a big linear TV watcher but looking forward to The Night Manager. Death in Paradise is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. Would always watch the Christmas special with mum, sadly she passed away this year so I'll be raising a glass of sherry in her memory when I watch it this year. 1
LeMarchand Posted November 28, 2025 Posted November 28, 2025 75 shows on that list and I'm not interested in any of them. Thank goodness I have access to other things to watch! 1
