Q:  Am I being thick here, I can't see my subscribed threads anywhere?

Ps well done  for spending 12 hours + upgrading the forum it was long over due and I for one am happy to put up with some bugs etc to get modern.  Jees i might even upgrade to windows 11 whilst i am in the mood!!!!

So I have added a "Subscribed" Link beneath the What's New bit which uses an Activity Stream as an option.

If I understand you, hit image.png then you should have an option to insert it.

Okay that bottom right button goes to the bottom editor instead of the edit post. I would click the title of the quote when its in there and cut/paste into your edit post box as a workaround for now.

Can't seem to click on anything in the quote box to copy... Never mind, it's a trifle... a mild irritation, I'm sure I'll get better at making sure my posts are complete before I hit submit in future and not remembering/thinking about something I should have said long after the moment has passed..

EDIT: What's the limit on editing...? Time or reply?

In other news, is there a 'TOP' button I'm missing somewhere? Some threads are quite long and my scroll wheel hasn't seen this much action since my gaming days...

Wait, what?!

I've got coffee in one hand and mouse in the other.... How am I supposed to do that?

Actually no, don't answer that...

Working on EduGeek is like driving a car full of bored, sugered up 13 year olds! 😝

Better than a 3 year old that has gone quiet in the back with a tub of sudocrem (other brands are available)

I'm sorry what????

Yeah its on pretty default for now. The same limitation was in the old site but it was not applied to the Thanks button where as here its all as one.

See this thread for new stuff:

Thankfully not myself, as I do not have any children, but I have seen it happen to a friend, twice, and the leather seats did not like it

As this seems to have become the "new site niggles" place, here's a few I've noticed:

  • The "Locations of devices" is way out. Android could be VPN thing, the other two places equate to my home and work and I wouldn't fancy that commute! Probably out of the site's control, though.

  • The tab subsections could do with more differentiation than bold text.
  • Badges - I'm some sort of time-travelling posting machine!

  • Posting/uploading pics isn't very intuitive, but that's just something to get used to (or I'm doing it wrong).
  • We still have the old sections like "Netbooks"
  • My RSS feeds need resetting, but I can't find the sections to look for a new way

  • Notifications don't clear if you visit the thread via other means

Sorry, sounds like a lot of complaints. Some of it is stuff that I'll just have to get used to, but given the superspeed with which you're sorting out some people's problems I thought I'd post. I am loving the new design on the whole!

Good things:

  • The first line of a bullet pointed list now works the way I want it to
  • Ctrl + Enter to post
  • Attachment storage amount. I need to do some housekeeping!

Can you post any RSS urls you were using. Use the CODE button image.png and I will set them up with redirects. Its both more flexible and less flexible in the new system but if I can get the basics redirected it will be good.

Funny, I like the new 'copy/paste' option better than having to save it and upload...

Copy/Paste

But the 'drag' to the attachments bar option (then select to insert into the post)...

Drag

...and the 'choose files' (then select to insert into the post) option both still seem more intuitive than the old forum version method...

Choose files

Plus the reuse old media function...

Not sure if there's more to the resizing/cropping etc. that I don't use?

Didn't know you could copy and paste. That is a lot easier! The "attach and place" was what I wasn't keen on. If I wasn't so lazy and had sensibly named all my attachments reuse might be an option, but I don't fancy searching through 120 pages!
