Hi,

We're able to logon OK to Hikvision software, control and web client software.

However we're unable to browse to the IP address of our two NVR's and logon with the same credentials.

I'm assuming then, that they have a separate "admin" account?

You can lockout IP addresses from being able to access the NVRs, on the devices themselves. The menus are an absolute nightmare but it's in there somewhere!

When I tried to use this it stuffed up so badly it locked out all the viewers so I haven't bothered since.

Yeah it's a pain - the password on the ivms 4200 is just any password you may have entered when you installed it - not the NVR password itself. The password for the NVR's will be stored in the config of ivms 4200 for the cctv to work but I've no idea if you can get it to show it to you. Each NVR can have its own password depending on who set it up

It's also worth noting that the login url changed in the latest update (depending on what model you have)

I upgraded two of our NVR's and my bookmarked shortcuts stopped working. If you download Hikvision SADP, it should find the NVR's on the network and you can launch the webpage from there. Also I have to flick between Chrome and Edge - some parts are more stable on the specific browsers.

Managed to "work out" what the NVR password was :D

Next issue is regarding a camera and why it is constantly recording - have checked it's on Motion:

Weirdly, all other cameras have masking like this:

But when I try and draw the motion detection areas on this camera they look like this:

Any ideas?

IU am assuming the foyer camera is a newer camera with Acusense, which is why it has the target detection (human/vehicle)

Are you on Basic Event, or Smart event? (line crossing detection, intrusion detection etc) I would use the smart events where you can, with the Human target ticked.

I think it was this!

Which we've now unticked.

Wise idea to untick audio recording, as there is a whole host of GDPR hoops you need to address before you should be recording anything
