Parago / Civica

We are looking to move our compliance software for the site team, having a had a look at a few and evaluated them we are leaning towards using Parago / Civica education.

 

Having a search on here and some Caretaking forums there seem to be both ends of the spectrum - some really rate it, others say it is terrible! Is anyone currently using it for this purpose?

 

We are moving from Safesmart, which has been quite unreliable over the last few months especially on the iPad app for our caretaker.

I honestly hope I never have to see Parago ever again.

 

I think it ticks a lot of boxes for functionality, however doesn't really do any of it well. It's clunky and unintuitive, and just not flexible.

We have Parago and it's soooo clunky it's not funny.

Even the staff don't like it so never log issues via it so it's been basically a complete waste of time for most of it. Central team can see the compliance, but only if anyone goes in to update stuff and remembers to add assets when they turn up (which hasn't been done since the original onboarding 3 years ago)

Horrible and seemingly abandoned system. We were promised SSO with Google when we signed up a few years ago, this still isn't an option now. Last time I looked, the Android app needed to be side loaded and wasn't signed (so was rejected by Google Workspace).

As the consensus is it's not very good, what do people use for compliance checks for their site teams?

I think our team use Safety Culture. I've not really had anything to do with it, I'm down to look at integrations with our ticket system, so that may indicate how easy it is to use.

We use Smartlog, but I wouldn't recommend it for reasons similar to those given for not choosing Parago. I'd love to find something that does this really well.

We used Parago for asset management, but recently moved to Every (MAT merge)... Parago worked well for us, was easy to use and navigate. Audit checks were quite simple, just run the app off an iPad. I would not recommend Every though!

Not to do with assets etc but we use Civica for cashless and a nightmare. We use irisassets for our asset stuff.,

As for Civica.......

-very slow to get back to us

-we get two types of IT support people: one brilliant or one awful. The awful one has a habit of breaking things and not fixing them, with the threat of 'this callout may cost'.

-we upgraded the system and not to what was promised which I keep chasing... and getting no response

-last time we organised the upgrade it took an age to get a response from anyone....

 

We were going to leave them but it would cost a lot of money which had already been spent elsewhere. Frankly.. I've had enough and we have been with them for many years.

That's who we are moving away from. I haven't yet found a product that everyone who uses it is positive about, they all seem good at some bits and fall short on others.

We use Parago/Civica Education Operations and we have no issues with it at all. The interface is a bit dated but for what we use it for (Asset Management and Helpdesk for Site Staff) it works perfect. Currently trailing using the compliance checks and daily tasks and working really well. Every time I have raised a support case with Civica they have always come back to me quickly. But I have seen other posts on here some people have had a very different experience to us so I guess it always good to see what else is out there..... but I would recommend it. We use I Am Compliant here, it seems to work well. We had Every 5+ years ago and it was terrible

Safety Culture iAuditor here for compliance with Parago for asset management, contracts and document signing but we're working towards a more integrated CAFM system.

 

Parago has been pretty good for us and I've used it through 3 jobs since it was released but the sale to Civica has seen it become more expensive and development certainly has slowed down. I had very few dealings with support since it became Civica.

Just to add, we've also had Every as well (I think technically we're still licensed for it), we've never got on with this either. I can't really tell you why as I know very little about it.
