powdarrmonkey Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 It's very, very impressive, but it looks a bit too good... I'm inclined to be sceptical. I didn't realise we had progressed holograms so far yet.
richard.thomas Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Video isn't loading I'm guessing its hosted on youtube which is being kindly blocked!
TechMonkey Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Yep, youtube vid. Not much to the vid really. He only shifts through some photos and makes some big, small and rotates. Tis a very cool tech and can't wait till it develops.
dhicks Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I didn't realise we had progressed holograms so far yet. I don't think we have - that just looks like a 2D see-through display to me. Snazzy, but I saw those at BETT a couple of years back - just a bit of specially-coated glass with an image projected into it. -- David Hicks
dhicks Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Tis a very cool tech and can't wait till it develops. So make your own: Johnny Chung Lee - Projects - Wii -- David Hicks

Saw a conference Richard Branson gave about 3 months ago, and he wasn't even there, it was all holographic, he was walking down the middle of aisles, talking to people, wondering around the whole conference centre, all while being projected from multiple ceiling mounted projectors. Holographic technology is highly-advanced and very upto date, the reason we don't know too much about it, is the cost to run it all.

Wow that sounds great fun, wish i was there as it sounds like it was good and very funky in technology.

Like R2D2 projecting Princess Leia's recorded message to Obi Wan?
