Looks more like a prison cell than it does an office, with walls looking like that!

Haha I can see what you mean. It's the old creative arts office. They've moved into a fancy new office so I've ended up here.

Before this I was in a shared office with caretaker (albeit was a large office). Nice to have my own space!

I don't drink Tea/Coffee/Horlix/Any hot drinks. Kettles in the office just bug me!

I drink a lot of tea, but I'm lucky that for the past 9+ years in this school, our office has been two doors down from the staff room which has a water boiler. We did have to resort to buying an under-counter fridge though, as even though the staff room is so close and has a fridge - our school doesn't provide tea/coffee/milk/sugar and anything in the fridges there are often stolen or used without permission. Instead we opted to get a second hand fridge from eBay (we made sure it passed a PAT before using it!) and store our milk and lunch here. A previous school I worked at had a similar setup, though due to the inconvenient distance to the staffroom, they used a large 5L water dispenser bottle and refilled it as necessary.

We have a 2 part office split between work office and server room/workshop. And it's being decorated and re-carpetted in the Summer.

Sounds similar to mine!

Enough room for my desk, a workbench and 2 filing cabinets. Would have been nice to have a window!

Also note the portable heater, as my radiator doesn't work - and hasn't done for the past 2 months :)

That's brilliant we have those exact cabinets!

At my last school (medium primary), no office, just a couple of desks in the corner of the staffroom. That was good from the POV of having a view, drinks access and people being able to find us, but less good at breaks with everyone chatting and asking us questions, but it was usually quiet in between, until it was decided to have small groups of kids being taught in there in the mornings. Many of us thought that was really out of order as it left staff with nowhere to be in an adult only space if they needed to calm down or do quiet work.

When I started working at my last place (LONG time ago now) my technician and I were working in the server room

It was cramped, standing room only, no air conditioning, and if we needed to swap places (for whatever reason) we both had to leave the room and walk in again.

DON'T have an office like that!

Yes, I had to do that for a few years. Did you also have the room where there was only space for 3 desks and chairs but there were 4 of you?

Our team was only ever three at most, much of the time there were two.

However, we went through a long-running phase where the head of ICT/Computer Studies (the old subject name) would commandeer my office for meetings with the teachers in her department.

We were not asked, it just happened and while the meetings were running, we were excluded from our own office.

My current “office” is shared with a pastoral manager and Finance, the room is usually our library.

We literally have a meter of desk space each, which is fitted worktops. I have space to work on two laptops, desktops are an issue though.

My usual office again is shared but has ample room, that’s located in our main building which unfortunately has been closed since September due to it being full of RAAC [emoji17]

This is our team 4th office in 10 years! Little annoying as where I’m standing is essentially corridoor to the other admin office (door is near the window on the right on the wall behind me).

I was given the option of one of the small offices off this room (in front of my tech on the left) but didn’t want to share it with the data manager. Also prefer being with the rest of the team!

There is storage rooms/staff only/repro rooms on the wall behind me. Where we also have an area for imaging etc.

We also share the office with someone who manages repro (She sits to the left of where my tech sits) and the operations director who sits near the window.

Essentially there is 8 desks but only 6 people in the office. Photo was from when we moved in over a year ago.

Only thing I wish we had is more power and data around our desks. We generally have plenty of room to spread out around the area.

We were suppose to move again (5th time) before Xmas to the new building but the finance team ended up moving there instead of us.

Reminds me of the technician in the secondary school I attended, though he was a sole technician. The "office" was literally a cupboard with servers in it, just deep enough to fit a shelve for a monitor and some floor tower servers. If the door was open, he had to stand up and use a folding chair when inside with the door closed.

As promised... My little slice of heaven...

and the bane of my life... Yes they are all broken...

Need a spring clean and re-arrange soon for a third person, luckily we have a decent sized server room and another comm's room so storage is not really an issue for us.

All these offices are so much tidier than ours

Because your boss stays in your office (uninvited) sometimes?

Hopefully not like my office. My boss decided to camp in my office from time to time (to avoid certain members of staff, apparently)

When this became a trend, I decided to discourage the visits by not tidying away things that I had been working on. By the time I left (2½ years ago) there was quite a pile of laptop and desktop carcasses. There was other general untidiness too (correspondence, documentation, etc)...

Maybe they tied up to take the photo.

It's like when one of my friends commented that my house was always so tidy. It's not most of the time, I just tidy when I have guests.

My desk doesn’t always look this tidy! Have worked hard to make our office a nice place for staff and students to visit.
