That is quite a fall it had and very surprised it's functioning as a corcer impact usually breaks everything!

Been there done that - bend the chassis back carefully, clip/glue everything else in - hey presto working again.

 

We don't buy metal chassis'd chromebooks any more as they have been ultra problematic with regards to bending and snapping screen hinges. Plastic with robber edges for the win!

Wow! Mad thing is we have just been handed a staff laptop with a broken screen caused by closing the lid with a pencil nestling on the keyboard.

We better not give them any ideas......

Why I should have to pay for the damage even though it fell off my car roof and I was the one who left it there. Why not claim from the school insurance policy... technically the car park is still part of the school!

Impressive, and the fact the teacher gets it back still showing signs of the *little* bump; priceless! One other thing I have to ask, in the first photo, in the background, why the need for IBM formatted floppy disks I mean, it looks as though it is still shrink-wrapped!

No but I've had the "I lent it to my daughter who downloaded some dodgy games file and now it is infected with virus but I need it in back in 10mins", I guess at least they were honest but I still weren't happy and this was a head of department too.

Been told "I don't know how it could have happened!" many times Laptop stops booting - open the back and water starts dripping out "Oh I may have cleaned it with a wet-wipe" 🤣

it is still shrink wrapped, also behind is a BBC Micro game on 5/14 floppy called Exile. On a shelf below that are some Acorn tape games.

 

Never know what you'll find at the back of an old cupboard! (I saved stuff back in 2005-6 that was being chucked), I had no room back then for 5 old laptops, that I still regret. (1980's/90 lugtops with full size mechanical keys)
