Can I please ask the 3CX users a question. Is 3CX system capable of using SIP trunk lines. We are currently using a Unify system with Voiceflex SIP lines whereby we get free landline and mobile calls and just pay for non-geo numbers. The the Unify annual maintenance on the other hand is about £800 and there is also a one off VOIP handset license fee of about £200

@mikes All our CB are solely used on site but I see no reason why Smoothwall monitoring would not work off site, if anything I would say that this would be one of the selling points

I have the projector and laptop in a mobile rack and send the audio across the hall and into the amp using AudioEngine W3 which has worked for almost 9 years with any problem at all. It cost about £100

if you are purchasing your internet connection from LGFL, you are now entitled to Senso monitoring for free under your subscription package. I previously looked at both these options but choose Smoothwall over Senso due to a recommendation from another school primarily to do with the alerting. I am not saying that Senso is better at this stage as I have not used it properly, but it is free and definitely worth a try at the very least.

Hi Tom, A couple of columns showing the incidents over the last 7 days and 12 months is an overview in my opinion and not reporting. There is no option to select any criteria for a granular report. I have it in writing that 1 hour moderation is normal. Thanks for the offer but these things have all been raised before. Smoothwall had the chance to show us that they were better than other products on the market but I am afraid to say that in our case they have failed.

Human moderation often takes over a hour and quite often pupils have already left for the day by the time the alert comes through. There is no historical reporting feature, the only way to achieve this would be to make periodic downloads using a .csv file and create your own reports. In the short time we have been using the monitoring solution, support is fairly poor. We will be moving over to another free solution provided by LGFL shortly

I can see the points raised by both sides and I agree with both to a certain extent I just wanted to say that, you can continue to use Windows 7 at your own peril so why not a Chromebook I am not saying that is would be a good idea but just that people should be given the choice

@Jonah If you have an internet connection with LGFL speak to them. They can and have in the past connected different school networks located at other sites together without the traffic even leaving the LGFL network. Let me know if you need a contact name.

I have the same opinion as 6Foot2 in that i never install the updates straight away. I also very selective about which updates to install so having the servers auto install and restart would be my nightmare.

All my VM's where on 2019 but I was forced into doing an in-place upgrade from 2012r2 up to 2019 on the VM host server over the half term. It went relatively smoothly but it definitely broke hyper v along the way.
