it was orginally announced as downtime due to some upgrades they were doing but was meant to be back online at 9am this morning. Clearly it didnt go as planned!

SSO is still broken for us - That status page is useless as it's the same situation as yesterday.

I've really pushed on them that if it isn't sorted for our parents evening tonight then my SMT will put a metric ton of pressure on me to replace the system. Doesn't matter that it's worked flawlessly for the last few years, they will be extremely upset.

They confirmed to me via email that SSO is broken but said they have no timescale for a fix.

Looking at our Azure AD enterprise apps, I can see it's complaining about an expired/invalid certificate so it may be that

Their status page is totally and utterly useless tho, as it says things (eg SSO) are working when they aren't & their historic errors page has nothing for yesterday

We've made the call to cancel our evening tonight, but this is really disappointing.

Interesting because I tried to do a sync earlier in the day and it wasn’t able to connect their server, is this still down ? Is their status page not worth going off and I should just ring them

In the morning?

Yes their status page is worthless - It's not up to date and doesn't show historic (eg... the last two days) issues.

Our SSO is still down today (On both Parents evening & Room Booking)

I have to say I'm really disappointed in how this situation has been dealt with. SchoolCloud have historically been one of the better companies that we've dealt with & their support is very quick to respond, but the way they've informed (or rather... not) people of this recent issue is shocking.

Yea I agree their support is normally good, it is disappointing that they letting things slip, as you say they seem or seemed to be one of the better companies

Hey all!

This is super frustrating as we have a parents evening in the next week or so. And as above... I have found SchoolCloud to be one of the better systems... normally.

Is this affecting the SIMS Extract tool too for any of you? We are just getting stuck at the verifying System Name and API Key.

Just spoken to support, Apparently its a failed server migration.

LDAP is also broken so I'm wondering if the LDAP requests are now coming from a different source to the ones permitted on peoples firewall rules?

According to their status page Room Booking is operational but our SSO is not working. We can get into the Admin Panel just fine so looks like SSO is still broken. Anyone confirm if they can get in using SSO?

Yes and the lack of communication is the worst bit about this.

I learnt a long time ago that you need to keep people informed during outages, or else they get angry in the background & harass you constantly for updates(As I am with them now)

As long as people know the state of play they will give you a bit of leeway to get on with your job of fixing it.

We had a major outage a few years ago - I made sure the headteacher & wider staff body were kept up to date & they let us get on with fixing the issue whist the head dealt with the comms.

If I had just shut myself away in the server room to fix it without keeping people informed, I would have had the door bashed in from people panicing.

They've updated their status page with the SSO issue and a "workaround".

Only reason I know about this is Edugeek and we were due to have a parents evening early next week. Communication is lacking for sure.

Ok, so don't bother trying reverting to internal accounts. They are locked to SSO, so you can't use them!!

What do you mean by "locked to SSO"? We were about to try turning off SSO ourselves but we won't bother if there's no point.

It doesn't let the users reset their years old password because they are "managed".

What I've done is switched to username/password and created a single new account with permission to book on behalf of other users.

All staff can login using that account and book on behalf of their regular account and the admin interface is not exposed.

"Having emailed out all staff, however, it appears it might only allow one session at a time, so still not really a good solution."

Scratch that, it works fine, just the login page is occasionally a bit intermittent.

Is anyone else using iSAMS? Their status page says that the sync process is now working for all MISs, but it's still failing for us in the Parents Evening System.

We use SIMS and the last successful sync was: 12/09/2023 01:46:33

This has obviously caused chaos in itself as bookings have been changed in SIMS and now we've get staff a work-around, we're double-book right left and central. What a mess.
