For the last few days we have had issues with logging into Bromcom using the sign in with Google button. And once we are logged in, its extremely slow.

We have only been using Bromcom for 4 months and have had 3 outages already. Is this a common issue with Bromcom?

Yep me too, driving me nuts. Just want to look up the timetable for a room. The manual login is the only way to get in pretty much.

Yeah thats what we have been told to do - however we havent allowed that for staff as we have chosen to just use the SSO option. I have given our Data Manager, Safeguarding Lead and Attendance lead manual logins now so at least someone can get in 😬

Good Morning Michael

I would like to personally assure you that this is not a common occurrence. This issue first occurred yesterday morning and was quickly resolved but appears to have resurfaced. We are working urgently to fully resolve this issue and ensure it does not happen again. I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused and if you need anything you are welcome to send a private message as well.

Kind regards,

Mem

3 outages in 4 months is a bit concerning though from MAT point of view. Especially as the issue is marked as resolved very prematurely.

It only appeared on the status page after I logged a case though - I'm not for a moment suggesting that it was my case that triggered it - but I'd really love to know the threshold for getting that status page updated!

I end up wasting time trouble shooting our school connection or any updates that may have been applied our end - only to discover yet again it's a service outage.

On a related note - you tried running any reports - because ours aren't working and there's a lot of other people reporting it on facebook?

Yes we had that issue with reports. Oddly if we recreated the report as a fresh it would run fine. We did report it to Bromcom via our third party support team.

My guess is it's a purely a manual process, and when a situation happens everyone is busy working on resolving to update the status page.

But maybe we've all made enough noise about it and from now on the page will be updated. If so fair play to Bromcom :)

Three mornings this week we have been unable to get through the Microsoft SSO, it's utterly ridicuolous. Our main concern is that we can't access emergency contact details if we need to call a parent or next of kin in an emergency. We're going to have to resort to pulling a CSV containing that information and storing it in a secure folder on our server, for such an emergency. Edit: We're mainly after the details in the Emergency Contact field that gets handed over to paramedics. Edited by CHiLL

Yep we have had to do the same. Or boot up our SIMS server for reference. However we can only do that this year as next year SIMS wont have our year 7s. Very worrying from Bromcom.

I will be doing this also once we are able to get back in.

Bromcom say it's now resolved and is unrelated to the SSO login issues from earlier this week. What a coincidence.

That somehow doesn't fill me with confidence that it was a 'seperate issue' 😂

We've had an email every evening last week and early this week from Bromcom about SSO issues. In general, it has been quite slow. It's not been as bad as it was this time last year though, which is an improvement at least.

The good news, no slow issues for our day-to-day staff.

No issues here either, apart from SSO. Not a major issue though as staff can just enter their details to sign in anyway.

We haven't experienced any issues fortunately.

I was, I admit, somewhat worried about the start of term with the issues they had last year in terms of slowness, but we have been OK.

They had a major issue with reports not working though at the end of the summer which was annoying for us but would have caused real issues for schools that still needed to print timetables etc, so that was not good.
