WSUS 22H2

Hi,

 

I am trying to use WSUS to push out Windows 10 22H2 update. Some of the computers are running windows10 2004 and I am unable to get it to deploy I have selected the Windows 10 Updates and made sure windows 10 is selected. Has anyone done this and if so what updates did you need to select deploy first?

If you go to the WSUS console and double click the computer you wish to update, it should open a report that tells you exactly what updates are needed.

You could also these commands from the command line to force windows to check in with the WSUS console

 

wuauclt /reportnow

wuauclt /detectnow

 

be patient as it can take 15 mins or so before you see the changes in WSUS but I find that a reboot often speeds this up

Currently pushing out 22H2 via our WSUS.

 

Had to fix our WSUS as it broke when I first tried. Now working fine. Your WSUS needs to be in good order with plenty of disk space, clients reporting back properly etc. There will always be some clients that just fail to update and will need rebuilding or manually updating.

 

Check that the update has successfully uploaded to your WSUS server (if you push them locally) first.

Also, use the enablement package (KB5015684) if you're running 2004 or better.

 

Assuming you're fully patched, 2004 > 22H2 will take ~5 minutes as there's very little to change.

100% with this, enablement package is a very easy route to take, reboots in seconds.
