KK20 Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Our students need basic video editing and the ability to extract audio from video etc. My kids use clipchamp at home on their PCs. For school I made a deployment in intune since it is in the store. All good, the basic app downloads and all is well. Fast forward to logging in and it seems to only accept "personal" microsoft accounts, our school 365 wont work. There seems to be zero documentation on getting logged in using education 365 accounts. I can log in using my personal 365 account (and oddly enough using google logon with the school username and password since I federated those at some point for youtube whitelisting some time ago - we dont use google stuff though) Ideas?
ITGuyNW Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 I just stick with the legacy photos app which has the video editor included, as Clipchamp seems to be some weird upsell version that Microsoft is trying to push Microsoft Photos Legacy - Microsoft Store Apps 1
KK20 Posted March 27, 2023 Author Posted March 27, 2023 hah, having windows 10 installed, those machines already have the "legacy" app so that will work. I didnt think to use the inbuild photos app.
psydii Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Windows 10 built in photo app is currently the recommended option. They way MS have been going with new capabilities recently I fear that if/when they do integrate ClipChamp to 365, it'll be an addon to E5. Hopefully they remember iMovie still exists and is free.
Fluke Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Video Editor is not in the latest windows 10 22h2 iso so look like we're going to have to explore this. Anyone had any joy with this in recent months?
georgeescott Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 (edited) Fast forward to logging in and it seems to only accept "personal" Microsoft accounts, our school 365 wont work. There seems to be zero documentation on getting logged in using education 365 accounts. Looks like Microsoft are rolling out their 'Clipchamp for Work' product. Which of-course is a paid-for add-on, or included in 'Microsoft 365 Business' Standard and Premium. Not clear if it'll be enabled for educational subscriptions yet though. They have a couple of documents for How to access Microsoft Clipchamp with your work account and Work account support in the Clipchamp app for Windows but no mention of education in those. So far, they're only supporting 'work' accounts for Clipchamp on the web only, and not-yet in their own app. I've tried logging in to https://www.microsoft365.com/launch/clipchamp as an account with 'Office 365 A1 for faculty' and 'Microsoft 365 A3 for faculty' but get 'Clipchamp is not available for you. Please contact your Microsoft 365 admin for assistance'. So it might be some time until it's available for education customers. Microsoft Photos Legacy - Microsoft Store Apps We're also sticking with Microsoft Photos Legacy/Video Editor (deployed via Intune) on our Windows 10/11 devices that don't have the Adobe Suite. I did discover that there's Clipchamp ADMX templates and a GPO setting to disable Clipchamp, referenced at the bottom of How to enable or disable Clipchamp for users in your organization, so we're using that until they support it for education. Oaktech Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 We've used the ClipChamp website signed in with a school Google account 2

KK20 Posted May 9, 2024 Author Posted May 9, 2024 We migrated everyone to using OpenShot in the end. This worked well on Windows 11 machines and a few legacy 10 that we have.
