Chrome colour overlay

Hi, I have been asked to allow the chrome store "color overlay" extension, but the reviews on it give me pause, especially considering not one actually rates it favourably. I am a little surprised there isn't something more native unless I am overlooking it.

 

I just wanted to check if anyone else is using this extension successfully or an alternative that works as expected? I am always a bit weary about allowing user-generated chrome extensions and even more so when others who have used it don't actually have anything good to say!

We just use Colourveil to do the whole screen at system level

Same as Oaktech, we've got colorviel installed and not had any complaints.

I tried ColorVeil last week and was impressed. You can roll it out on a network via MSI or with the portable, but the portable needs a drive letter (no UNC paths).

Thanks. I should have said that it's chromebooks that we use with students, hence the need to have it as browser-level rather than OS level. Colorveil looks good but seems to be OS based, limited to Windows?

We made Dyslexic Browser (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dyslexic-browser/gflobokeglbgdhdelipppigfncpnfgbh) available to our Chromebook users recently. It's a Chrome extension. This was at the request of one (adult) user and as far as I know, they are the only user to install it but it seems to work. It probably does more than you need though but once the user has set up the colour, they just press 'o' to toggle it on or off so they can ignore the other options if they wish.

+1 for this on ChromeOS - It's been recommended to us by county vision services.

I'll be looking at ColourVeil though as ours are all on desktops; no chromebooks involved.
