Microsoft Edge automatically opening on login

Hi,

 

We currently have a issue where Microsoft Edge automatically opens on login.

 

For students it will open twice. One with our internal site in the search bar and one which has a empty search bar.

 

But for staff it just opens once with our internal site.

 

Has anyone had this issue before?

phew, thought this was only us! it just started doing this earlier in the week, we're trying to block it with a script but having no luck so far. I'm assuming it's something in last week's updates, is a bit U2 for my tastes...

 

We are an RM CC4 school, don't know if that's relevant?

Us too! We are also an RM CC4 school and I know RM are investigating it. Again I assumed it appeared after the recent WIndows updates.

Same issue here, CC4 here as well caused by version 97 of Edge..... call logged as well with RM.

Thanks very much. I have tested on a few machines and all seems well so I am about to roll it out all over.

Have just seen this thread and were having the same issue. Have any of you by chance recently installed the RM Office365 package? If so, this currently seems to be the cause as for us it started when we installed the package.

No I did that a few months ago without issue. For us it does just seem to be since we did the Windows Updates.

We are a non RM school and started getting this earlier this week. Will try the reg fix tomorrow.

We are a vanilla non RM school here. The issue just started overnight, the middle of last week.

I applied the reg fix to our CC4 network, looks like it's working! I added it as a custom gp in the Global policies in Computer Policies in RMMC (if you're using that).
