Got a teacher who wants to walk around his classroom to help the kids on-site, but then be wearing a mic so he can talk to the kids at home who are on Teams. Anyone got a recommendation please?

Thank you

The cheapest option (around £30) might be a pair of bluetooth noise-cancelling headphones. Most sets will act as a bluetooth mic as they have mics in the headpiece to do the noise-cancelling bit. Snazzier models have motion / orientation detection that turns them off when you remove them from your ears, so you might need to turn that option off if the teacher is just going to stick them round their neck to use.

I'd wondered about those, but I'm not convinced the teacher will want to be (or rather "not convinced the teacher should be") wearing noise cancelling headphones in a classroom. I realise they can just hang them around their neck, but I'd rather it was just a lapel mic or something.

I wouldn't use bluetooth. Bluetooth Audio is notorious for delays unless you're using 5.0 or above across the board.

Fine if it's audio only, but if you have video too it causes issues.

Not a product recommendation - more of a warning for scope creep. "I've got the mic and they can hear me, but now I want them to always see me on camera as well wherever I am in the room......" you know it's going to happen! Maybe check to see if this is going to be a thing now before buying something that will end up being the wrong product in the long run.

The irony of this is back in the first days of classroom amps etc.... They all had plugs for microphones via the amp. I've NEVER seen them be used and with interactive TVs that's no longer an option.
