The store used to prompt for a M$ login but you could cancel and the free apps would install. This is no longer the case...

Have I missed something? it was an easy go to for the teachers who wanted netflix and spotify. (I know web versions but Teachers)

Turning on the store for business and not approving anything was a great work around for not having to do all the Appx removals or disable store GPO and let core services still update

The neat thing about the Store app is the self-service aspect. I can just tell staff to install PowerBI Desktop if they needed it, for instance, or the IPEVO visualiser app, without having to deploy it to everyone or work out how to get an install script or MSI package to work, and then also work out how to manage updates. The Store app just worked and was easy to signpost users to.

Indeed, this is the method I've switched to here.

Doesn't seem to work any more on the windows 11 store for new aquisitions. Let me download camera app and get help as the PC already has a licence for them aquired under windows 10 but nothing new.

Verifying/Requesting package acquisition...
Verifying/Requesting package acquisition failed: no store account found

Won't let me sign in with anything except my hotmail account.

This is rubbish.
