nicholab Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Just looking at my options for my iPhone 8 and it looks like I can’t upgrade it unless my hands get bigger. The iPhone 11 looks to be the same size as the XR which I used to have for work which was a great phone. Is this right the iphone 11 is bigger than the 8? I did not mind the XR size for work but to take out every where it was a bit big.
paulkerton Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 iPhone 12 Mini is the closest size wise. https://www.phonearena.com/phones/size/Apple-iPhone-12-mini,Apple-iPhone-8/phones/11333,10408
nicholab Posted June 15, 2021 Author Posted June 15, 2021 (edited) Why do they keep making them bigger?!! I have to where my workman trousers every where. Edited June 15, 2021 by nicholab
ICTDirect_Dave Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 This should help The 11 is a magnificent phone and I love mine. Bigger than the 8 and the same size as the XR was. It feels comfortable to use, has great battery life and buckets of power!
nicholab Posted June 15, 2021 Author Posted June 15, 2021 How do you cope having such a phone in your trousers/shorts pocket every where you go?
Norphy Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 My work phone is an XR, my personal one is a 7. I carry both about and to be honest, the XR isn't noticeably bigger in my pocket than the 7. I do prefer the size of the 7, to be honest so if I were going to buy a new phone today it would be a 12 Mini
ICTDirect_Dave Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Really easily actually. Over the years I've had a 4, 5, 6 Plus, 8, 8 Plus (free swap halfway through contract) and the 11. The 11 is less bulky than the two plusses I've owned which is a good thing. I tend to have relatively slim cases rather than huge overblown protective ones. This has worked so far as I've never smashed a screen. Phone lives in whichever of my front pockets doesn't have my wallet in and tends to stay there on its own in a relatively unobtrusive fashion.

Danp Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 My daughter just went from an 8 to 12. Quite a difference but I don't think the 12 is too big. It's about the same size as my P30 Lite
nicholab Posted June 16, 2021 Author Posted June 16, 2021 The 8 is a great size why did the have to make it bigger soon we will be using Dom Joly sized phones. They could have made the screen bigger not the phone. Also I would miss finger print ID I prefer it to face recognition on a phone having had both.

The 12 Mini is smaller than an Eight, the SE is an iPhone 11 in a iPhone 8 shell. You do have options.
LeMarchand Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 My current phone is an Ulefone Armor 7e - 165.9 x 81 x 13.6 mm - and I'd happily go a bit bigger for a larger screen. Phone storage is a problem, though. I've never kept a phone in "normal" trouser pockets - back pockets = likely to get sat on and front ones not in a good place either (plus keys etc). Apparently it's a big fashion faux pas to use a belt holster, though I do use one of the molle type when I'm not wearing cargo trousers, but the problem with cargo trousers is it that they're not suitable for smart occasions. Clothes designers need to wise up and provide a "phone pocket" in trousers.
elsiegee40 Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Clothes designers need to wise up and provide a "phone pocket" in trousers. Try being female. We’re lucky if we get pockets at all let alone ones big enough for a phone In days of yore the little flip phones used to tuck nicely into a bra [emoji23]
3s-gtech Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 We’re a long way from the days of the Nokia 7280! I do love my old iPhone SE (G1) which is still a great phone. Too damn small for my spidery hands though!
Jcx500 Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Just got the iPhone se gen2 as my work phone , i've got to say it's great , i'm starting to prefer it over my 12
