Has UniFi stopped making it's AC Pro WiFi devices?

Just wanted to add a few more unfi AC pro devices to our WiFi but they dont seem to list them on their site - https://unifi-network.ui.com/wi-fi

 

Have they stopped making these?

 

They are still selling them on other sites but dont want to get something that will be EOL soon.

 

Which one would be similar from the newer range?

OK so I have found the AC Pro on their site :0)

 

Whould I still be better to get one of the newer points like a Access Point U6 Lite or are the AC pro still good devices?

I rather like their APs as they are cheap and simply work, we also use quite a few of their point to point APs too - they only get rebooted when I update the firmware, they never need power cycling otherwise and work flawlessly. We couldnt afford to use someone like ruckus. I have never liked their cloud offerings though and wouldnt use them.

There do seem to be stock issues with the main distributors.

 

Only the cloud side is a security issue, but negated if you configure 2FA.

Lots of stock issues with IT stuff still, were having an issue with laptops and its due to the screens at the minute, looking at July for delivery at the minute.

Someone got access to their entire system, ie the databases, the virtual machines, everything. They probably know everyone's wifi password. And Ubiquity didn't tell you, or even know what was stolen, because they had no logs. Plus they took a year to fix that disconnecting Nano HD firmware. Not a suitable company to trust, their CEO fired everyone who knew what they were doing to save money

Is it worth putting ac pros in at this moment ? It looks like they could possibly be going EOL ? I'm considering starting to put U6 lites or nanos in classrooms with HDs in open areas (unless I change vendors of course)

Pretty sure it is still the fact credentials could of been compromised and still wise to change password, setup MFA and reset the MFA on accounts to be sure.

 

But yes defo disable management by cloud if you do not need it.

It is not a question of if there is a breach these days but more common when and has highlighted some poor practice by multiple organisations but the key thing is communications with end users and public awareness of what has happened.

 

Facebook has also had a massive breach and their attitude has been questionable.

From what I can tell it's the older pro devices that are end of life not the uap AC pro

I'd say so, but generally I only bought packs of 5 which include no PoE injectors anyway. Definitely a good decision, even for singular purchases.

 

My only other observation this month, is I updated to the 6.1.71 controller and the new interface is **** but thankfully you can revert back to the classic interface. I wouldn't mind, but half the functionality isn't visible in the new interface.

 

I've also observed Unifi Lite's are being offered a firmware upgrade to 5.43.35.12698, with Unifi Pro's still on 4.3.28.11361. It appears the firmware versions have been aligned with Unifi switches.

They're just changing the singular Unifi Pro so it includes no PoE injector. Packs of 3 and 5 don't include a PoE injector anyway.

 

Looking at the specs of the U6 and U6 LR, these are direct replacements for the current Lite and LR - there's no replacement for the Pro as yet.

 

Very few devices still support WiFi 6 anyway, so I'd still continue with the existing Pro's which go up to AC.

With the recent firmware issues Ubiquiti are basically EOLing their kit anyways.
