Anyone off to the pub or zoo today?

The fools queuing up this morning to get into Primark. If people are not careful there will be another wave...

Why not kill two birds with one stone and head to the local 'Spoons?

While you're at it, you might be able to take in a bit of 'boxing/wrestling' too!

Tried to get a haircut at 9am at my usual place. There must have been 20 people queued down the street! The alternates (I had planned this!) were appointment only :(

I just want to see my ears again!

99p. Job done.

Or, if you're feeling adventurous, grab your shaving device and borrow Geralt's look from the "Hearts of Stone" expansion.

Yes, Witcher 3 may well have lasted me since Lockdown 1 and I've still yet to finish. (Though just "Blood and Wine" to do now)

Been for outdoor breakfast at local greasy spoon which has an outdoor seating area (I was the only one there!), haircut booked for tomorrow, not going anywhere near pub for a couple of weeks - have managed this long, can manage a bit longer!

Apart from shopping at the supermarket as I would have to anyway, and getting my haircut on Saturday (booked in, no less) then I have zero plans to attempt to go to any other shop right now. I'm using the popular times graphs on Google to pick my poison!

What's a Pub?

Think I need to enrol on a course how to order a pint :p

Pub? Ah, yes: a meeting place where people attempt to achieve advanced states of mental incompetence by the repeated consumption of fermented vegetable drinks.

Mrs C's hairdresser was here at 10:30 this morning.

Any.... errr-what's the colour you get by mixing black and white.... was dealt with, two girls trimmed, and mine cut by noon.

Went past a few pubs today on my bike

all closed except one - which seemed to have a lot of jolly noises coming from the beer garden

not sure social distancing was at the forefront of their minds from the little I could see!

Not going anywhere near the pub, #herdimmunitymonday is trending on Twitter, get ready for wave 3
I agree with you and something isn't sitting quite right with me at the moment. I've had this feeling before about how something big is about to happen, i had it just before the very first lock down. I might be wrong, but instinct is telling me not to go out and socialise in big groups just yet.

There is also an elenent of social anxiety kicking in for me which ive not felt for a good 20+ years.

I'd be happier once the majority of those around my age (34) and younger have been vaccinated. It does seem like there is very little effort to push out the vaccine to the under 40s without any under lying health conditions. Ok, the youngster may be able to fight it off better. I feel the LFTs are a waste of time too but that's just my opinion andthe fact there are "proper" tests that we can pay for, those that are needed for when we travel abroad.

Let's just see what happens in a couple if weeks but i feel people meedto be aware of the "risks" involved and risk assess the event / environment which i think is something people are starting to forget.

The sceptic in me is telling me there is something bigger to all of this, something we aren't being told, something isnt quite right.

I'm yet to find out just and who it really attacks people, i still think it has something to do with blood type and genes.

I could rant and rant just like any of us but here is not the place.

Loads open around by me , going to hold of this week I think , got a few friends going out will have to wait to hear what they say about it

The ones I have seen open are the ones I would want to avoid

The sort were noisy people go and have 'fun'

After a year of not going near people - and being an introvert this just ain't a huge problem - I am not sure I want that!!

I leave it until I have had the 2nd vaccine plus a week or so

so that'll be a while yet - about about a month

Went for chippy tea and a walk at Lytham with my partner last night. All the bars and restaurants that had outdoor seating (pretty much all of them) were packed.

Everyone seemed very happy.

Bit too chilly for my liking so we sat on the prom with three layers on overlooking the Ribble estuary and had our fish and chips!

Huh

I used to live near Llandudno - eating chips on the prom was pretty much guaranteed to incite a seagull mobbing

If I ever see that damn gull that stole my pie it is getting

errr

serious something

Damnit - it was a pie!!!!!

Oh - and anyway - when I jumped up after it and grabbed a half brick it dropped the pie

and - of course - I ate it - well I might have broken off the bit where its beak might have been

maybe

and I seriously did NOT lob the half brick at the gull

although the fact that I was teacher in the area at the time

and the beach was quite crowded

and the half brick MIGHT have missed the gull and flown on

'and the fact that there might have been a pupil - or ex-pupil - of mine may have been able to see

might have entered my mind

and anyway - it was probably also the bar steward that stole - I mean seriously swooped down - at speed - under the canopy and took my ice cream

deliberately

with malice aforethought

and not just any old ice cream but one from THORNTONS!!!!

so

basically

gulls

bar stewards the lot of them

errrr - whoops

still - gulls eh

Walked half an hour to a pub yesterday evening for dinner. It rained in the way there and stopped as we arrived. It was blooming freezing. The staff weren’t wearing masks. Enjoyed the meal. Probably won’t go there again.
