I've been looking for it the past few days and can't find it either

Glad I'm not the only one... the lite registration part is going to be a big job although it does say you can do them later

 

We were going to start testing this week but we are way off.. especially with the remote learning kicking in.

 

We did a short test run with 14 staff this morning and lite registration is going to be a pain, but can be done within 24hrs so I think we're going to outsource that to our multi-monitor using staff (aka people who can copy and paste efficiently). Doing that, it shouldn't be too bad... just tedious.

 

For staff, they can register themselves. For students, we will do the lite registration using data from their consent forms. It requires things like DoB, Address, Email Address (parent), Mobile Number (parent) so will pull that data into the spreadsheet. Otherwise it was pretty straightforward, just a lot of admin on the backend.

We've set up second monitors for the staff processing the results. Thinking about it, the person updating Lite doesn't need to be in the testing centre do they - they just need access to the spreadsheet.

Yeah, that's my thinking. Keep it simple for the test centre and then the lite registration can be done from home, in offices etc depending on staff availability.

We set up a "trip" on ParentMail, and parents are consenting via that.

 

We have ParentPay and....let's just say this route is less painful.

I imagine the lite registration just needs the registration card with the barcode on it and a positive or negative on it.

 

So they come in, register at the first desk and are given their registration card with the other 2 barcodes... they pass it on to desk 2 who does the test and passes them onto desk 3 for the results and stick a barcode on the test and carries it out. When the test results come in they put a marker pen mark on the test and on the registration card which can go in a box for processing later... Desk 3 could probably do the results uploading using an iPad too as that only takes a few seconds.

 

I presume there's no risk with the cards being removed and processes late.

One barcode should be on the LFD cartridge, one barcode should stay on the reg card for the student/parent/staff member to register themselves, this is so they get a text/email with the result (instantly upon the school scanning onto the Test and Trace system).

 

Everyone who gets tested MUST isolate until they get the result, so you either need a lot of staff registering the students or the students/parents registering themselves.

 

As it is well publicised that it takes 30 mins for results, anything over 45 minutes for them to get the result notification will be scrutinised and complained about.

 

Test and Trace will contact you if you do not register people but upload results, or if results are uploaded too long after testing.

 

It’s not very well thought out for schools/young people being tested unfortunately! Lots of barriers to this so far which is likely to slow down the flow rate.

Yes the mobile and email! The two main fields needed to be accurate so would be best for copy paste instead of manual entry which could lead to errors.

 

Also we have some staff who do not have a mobile number, but this is a required field on the form, so not sure how they are supposed to register.

Am I right in thinking there isn't a way to upload in bulk?

 

We use electronic consent to copy and pasting would be more accurate anyway. Also it's asking for the first line of the address which isn't on the consent form.

 

Can't really complain, it's a pandemic and they are still playing catchup.

 

Might try an addon to edge to allow pasting..

Can you point me to the "Must isolate until they get the result". I remember the webinar saying they can go back to class which we thought would be a bad idea and potentially more disruptive. But don't remember it saying they had to isolate (unless a positive result).

I saw this too in the webinar but didn't want to say as it seemed stupid.

I believe it is in the webinar, the handbook and on the gov website regarding lateral flow testing. However it appears they have now reduced this to daily/serial testing.

However, noting if you have a positive then you instantly will go into serial testing and they will have now had close contacts being in a classroom if you do not isolate them.

 

From the FAQ document:

“anyone tested as part of the daily/serial testing of contacts programme will need to wait somewhere before being allowed to begin normal school/college activities until they receive a negative test result”

Schoolscreener does not do anything about reporting the results to the DHSC / NHS

 

The requirement to register the test remains an onerous task for anyone expected to do it for their students - our head has raised this through unions and our MP.

I'm polishing off a bit of Google apps script that will take a spreadsheet and turn it into the correct autoit script. Does all the data entry and stops at the check details screen. One script per barcode.

 

Still not as good as a bulk upload but it'll help.

A petition on the Government's own site might be more effective. They have to debate topics on there which get more than a certain number of votes, but they can freely ignore change.org petitions.

I created a Microsoft 365 PowerApp which reads student/staff info from a master SharePoint list. Has logic in it to prevent reg if student/staff have not got consent. Also prevents the same barcode from being registered twice etc.

 

Once registered (registration assistant selects student/staff's name and scan barcode), it creates a record in another SharePoint list. Form fields reset and process repeated.

 

Results recorder then scans barcode from test. PowerApp returns the student/staff record for that barcode and they can select the appropriate result. They then click save and it updates the record in the SP List. Fields then reset and process repeats.

 

Works well.

Done a weeks worth of testing and our Google Sheet works fine, copy and pasting (adding a Edge addon to enable pasting) doesn't take that long but we are only doing about 25 pupils. Hopefully bulk uploading will arrive before schools are fully back.

 

Staff seem to got their heads round registering themselves.
