discoveranother Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Hi all, I'm looking for a good laptop and PC supplier i.e. reliable with good support if any problems in the UK. I know there are the likes of PC World, Ebuyer etc but I know there must be suppliers out there that get stock in bulk that can be purchased at a smaller price. Any recommendations very grateful. Thanks
leegcvcc Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 (edited) What sort of specs? I know that 15" screens are hard to come by at present as just bought a load myself. Plenty of 14" around from what I can see. Edited November 3, 2020 by leegcvcc
mikeprice Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 There are sponsors on here that wil help ICT Direct - Dave is very helpful if you want refurbished (looks at socks) Very PC seem helpful as well I'm sure some will be along 2
sigma Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 I had a good experience with Stone recently, and got decent support from them with a Lenovo wifi issue. Lenovo were useless. 1

Oh - yes my last school has some of Stone I think Moses signed of the spec - but the damn things would not fail just lob some more memory and sort the disk out and something with a floppy disk and a parallel printer port just kept on working $deity knows where it got its performance from - OK - not fast but OK 1
VeryPC Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 Give Colin at Very PC a shout Yes, definitely do @discoveranother Our Colin @VeryPC_Colin_M is a bit of a legend around these parts. I'll get him to drop you a PM! In the meantime do let me know if you need any more information! - Ryan
smurfomatic Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 We've used Stone for a few years now, both as a supplier and more recently as a builder of their own machines. Generally reliable and solid pieces of kit. 1

VeryPC_Colin_M Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 Thanks @Danp ! Always happy to help @discoveranother . The Laptop market is a little sensitive currently but we're doing a decent job of keeping customers supplied within budgetary boundaries. Hopefully we can help you too :-) Best, Col 2
Katy Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 +1 for VeryPC for new stuff, not bought any for a while but back before 'rona we got 40 Lenovos the spec I wanted and beating everyone else's price. Also Col's the best. (Is this nice enough for some more socks? ) I don't buy refurb laptops but for all my other refurb needs I go ICT Direct, for the servers we just purchased they were half the price of their competitors on the same model/age/spec refurb kit. 3

gmonks Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 VeryPC as others have said are good, Millgate are good too. 2
ronnoco Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 I've tried many brands over the years but now....always buy Dell for all of our kit. If you get yourself a Dell account manager, you will get a good discount On the rare occasion you get a problem, the support is absolutely superb. We have some OptiPlex 755's that are 12 years old and still running strong (they've had SSDS & RAM upgrades though!)
StoneGroup_JackW Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Thanks to all for the kind words about us over at Stone! I have just sent you over a PM. Happy to help with anything you may need. We have stock of both 15.6" and 14" screens too.
