Hi all,

I'm looking for a good laptop and PC supplier i.e. reliable with good support if any problems in the UK.

I know there are the likes of PC World, Ebuyer etc but I know there must be suppliers out there that get stock in bulk that can be purchased at a smaller price.

Any recommendations very grateful.

Thanks

What sort of specs?

I know that 15" screens are hard to come by at present as just bought a load myself. Plenty of 14" around from what I can see.

I had a good experience with Stone recently, and got decent support from them with a Lenovo wifi issue. Lenovo were useless.

Oh - yes

my last school has some of Stone

I think Moses signed of the spec - but the damn things would not fail

just lob some more memory and sort the disk out

and something with a floppy disk and a parallel printer port just kept on working

$deity knows where it got its performance from - OK - not fast but OK

We've used Stone for a few years now, both as a supplier and more recently as a builder of their own machines. Generally reliable and solid pieces of kit.

I agree, Got some refurb laptops from these recently and I have no complaints

+1 for VeryPC for new stuff, not bought any for a while but back before 'rona we got 40 Lenovos the spec I wanted and beating everyone else's price. Also Col's the best. (Is this nice enough for some more socks? ;))

I don't buy refurb laptops but for all my other refurb needs I go ICT Direct, for the servers we just purchased they were half the price of their competitors on the same model/age/spec refurb kit.

What colour do you fancy @Katy ? Our very own postie Nicole is going to the postbox at midday so if you're quick I'll get her to pop a pair in the post today for you....

Classic bright neon blue please :D

(I found an even more classic pair of the mostly plain grey ones in the back of the sock drawer last week!)

I've tried many brands over the years but now....always buy Dell for all of our kit. If you get yourself a Dell account manager, you will get a good discount On the rare occasion you get a problem, the support is absolutely superb. We have some OptiPlex 755's that are 12 years old and still running strong (they've had SSDS & RAM upgrades though!)
