Looking for AV/Stage Lighting Company Recommendations

Morning all,

 

There are plans afoot here to completely redesign the layout of our main hall, which will basically involve turning the whole use of it round by 180 degrees. Coming out of this, there is a need to re-jig the stage lighting and hall AV implementation to accommodate.

 

I'm after any recommendations of good companies that other schools have used for this sort of work. Looking for companies to bring in to discuss the plans, requirements etc and propose solutions. Needs to be a one-stop-shop who can do all of the stage lighting, the audio system and the visual displays as an integrated solution.

 

Any suggestions? We are based in West Sussex, so firms covering the South East really.

In Bristol we use a company called Spirolux and they work with a lot of schools as well as professional theaters, they have also taken over our PA system which had a lot of issues with hissing and volume control. I couldn't recommend them enough. They're very good and don't overcharge or sell anything that you don't need.

Henley Theatre Services (HTS) are pretty good, Stage Electrics are also top notch.

Just another recommendation for Stage Electrics. We've actually dealt mostly with their hire branch, SLX (just looked them up and found out that's now a separate business), who were excellent - we felt they provided the right kind of solution for the budget we had, and had the right amount of organisation and professionalism to make sure the setup happened as it was supposed to.
