E-Mail Address Autocomplete / SSO for Google in Chrome

Hi,

 

We have Windows machines (currently 7 - soon to be 10) on a domain that I'd like to have a solution that helps the children either login with a SSO or at least auto complete their email addresses in chrome. They can remember their windows usernames and passwords but often find it hard when signing in to G Suite to remember their email addresses. They're pupil.@. - They always miss some part out or get something wrong. Either windows could authenticate them and automatically have them logged in or even if I could via gpo/reg/cmd add an autocomplete to chrome to atleast suggest their individual email addresses?

 

Does anyone have any suggestions? I think the hardest part is that it needs to be a free solution.

I do believe each server you can put /a/emaildomain

 

Such as classroom.google.com/a/theoretical.lea.sch.uk and it will have thay at the end

 

We do this with our links to drive and classroom (we don't use gmail, we use office 365 for email)

Why not put in place a custom domain for your G Suite tools? You can have things like mail.yourdomain.sch.uk and drive.yourdomain.sch.uk via Company Profile -> Show More -> Custom URLs. Create CNAMEs pointing at ghs.googlehosted.com.

 

You can have custom URLs for:

 

Mail

Calendar

Drive

Sites

Groups for Business

 

When you add them, and you have SSO in place, it will automatically show you the SSO login window. If you don't have SSO, I'm not sure what login it'll show you, but I imagine it'd be the /a/yourdomain version of the logins.

We use mandatory profiles and wanted a similar solution for our younger students. We use the chrome browser and redirect chrome profile data to a hidden folder on each users homedrive.

This means once they login they can save the details and it auto completes on subsequent logins. With it saved to the homedrive it roams with them to any computer.
