Silica Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 I need a good supplier for approx. 400 240-256GB~ SSDs. What prices have you paid or would expect to pay? Not looking for the best SSD, just something basic... SATA 6.0Gb/s 540 MB/s Read, 500 MB/s Write.. Thanks
CHiLL Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Kingston A400 240GB SSDs should do you fine. I would expect to may more than £20-£25 (ex-VAT) per unit.
1TF0rward Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 I've been quoted £24 for KINGSTON BX500 240GB SSD SATA DRIVE. Seems reasonable to me. The more you get the less you pay per unit.
localzuk Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Shouldn't be paying more than about £22.80 per unit for Kingston 240GB units, if buying individually. Buying in bulk, I'd be expecting £21 at most.

duzzie Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 CCL Computers, always the cheapest when I need anything, discount for bulk as well.
PotNoodleTech Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 I always buy my SSD from BT Business Direct. Web price is £21.24 for 1 x Kingston A400 240GB. I'd expect to get that price down for QTY: 400!!!
CHiLL Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 According to Probrand's marketplace, they currently have over 600 in stock at £20.78.
synaesthesia Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 I've been quoted £24 for KINGSTON BX500 240GB SSD SATA DRIVE. Seems reasonable to me. The more you get the less you pay per unit. You need to find a better supplier, that's over most people's off the shelf price!
synaesthesia Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 About standard, ebuyer keeps flagging up a400s and integrals for just a shade under 13 now and then. I expect 120GB drives to go the way of 60GB drives and be more of a niche so prices will either drop to a certain point and stay static or be so close to the cost of a 240 there's no point in buying them.
Passat1983ICTech Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Is 14.40 good for a 120? this great price on 120 ssd
synaesthesia Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Is 14.40 good for a 120? this great price on 120 ssd No its not. Ebuyer - 12.40 off the shelf. Amazon 13.39 including VAT... Go shopping. Find yourself a supplier that isn't going to rip you off. It's only a couple of quid but that's another SSD every 7 you buy... Our preferred supplier will usually get a price that equals or beats the off the shelf even when they have deals on, and if they can't they'll be upfront about it. The last batch we bought were 13 quid each for Kingston A400s.

The last batch we bought were 13 quid each for Kingston A400s. When I was looking I looked at amazon and ebuyer but didn't see any good "deals". I also went to multiple suppliers and all was a lot higher. If you could find me one cheaper on amazon or ebuyer I would be highly grateful as I am looking to get 150 of them. At £13 a piece I will be very happy and so will SLT. Not sure if this is the same in every school but ordering is extremely slow at time so it is hard to get approval for deals.
synaesthesia Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 https://www.ebuyer.com/858271-integral-120gb-v-series-v2-ssd-inssd120gs625v2 Speak to proper box shifter suppliers though, they'll easily be able to match that price with something a little better like the Kingstons. Try the new Misco, our favourites are a local supplier to us AMC Computers, CCS etc. Don't forget even with deals on Ebuyer are pulling in a reasonable markup.

chazzy2501 Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 I just purchased the sunbow de-sb x3 240gb drives from Amazon for £15.09 each (19.09 with VAT) Slow for an SSD but blazing compared to the drives coming out. We have Lenovo 2nd gen i5 M92 PCs but I think the refurbish supplier put older HDDs in them. anyhow here is the sunbow vs the wd3200JS
