Hello, Does anyone know a way we could redirect all traffic to a specific URL to another? For example, if a user goes on to google.com, they will be redirected to google.co.uk? Or eBay.com to Amazon.com etc. I tried this with host files, but it doesn't look like modern web browsers check them. Could it be done with DNS? Thanks

Hi all, Is anyone using any of the apps with Office 365 to communicate with parents? SLT would like to be able to push news or updates relating to specific students or groups of students via Office 365. They want parents to receive a notification or alert when an update is made. Parents do not have access to our Office 365 tenant but we have parent email addresses and are setting up Microsoft SDS so we could pull that data if need be. Thanks Theo

Currently all users are in Exchange Online (Office 365) All users are appearing in the global address list. When a member of staff searches for a name, they sometimes are emailing students instead of staff because they are adding the wrong name in a rush. I have created two new address lists, one for staff and another for students, but the default address list when you open the address book in Outlook is the GAL which lists ALL users in the address book so students are still appearing in it. I don't want to create seperate address books because I still need staff to be able to see students email addresses within an address list and the default behaviour when opening Outlook Address Book is the GAL which will still list ALL users in that address book. Questions: 1. How do you manage your address lists? 2. Is there a way to hide students from the GAL, but still make them appear in name searches such as within Teams or when sharing a file with someone? Hi all, How are you formatting student usernames at your schools? Currently we use firstname.lastname for our student account and email addresses. This is increasingly being questions from a safeguarding point. I have been asked whether we can change this to ID reference number. How does that affect how users appear in Outlook address books and on Teams etc? Thanks.

Thanks - I tried the script again and got it to run without any errors. I then converted the Unicode output to ASCII. I'll try that and see what happens. Still 30 minutes is a long time, especially if a student needs to log in to grab a file quickly.. ill experiment and see what happens. Thanks for your help.

I've tried a few scripts but could never get them to work... I used a Chrome Extension called SP Editor and it gives you loads of info from whatever SP site you are on... im pretty sure i got it correct. How long does the sync take. The MS doc page says up to 8 hours... is that 8 hours per device? If it can take 8 hours, it will be useless for students using randoms devices....

We have OneDrive auto sign in when staff and students sign in to a device. Works great. I have configured the section on the GPP for 'Configure team site libraries to sync automatically' but it doesn't seem to be syncing the SharePoint library when a user signs in... I've waited over 12 hours.. Not sure what I am missing here... we want to be able to sync the staff and student sharepoints when they sign in.. Thanks

Hi all, From what I understand you can't nest AD security groups into modern Office 365 groups. Just wondering how people keep the two groups of user membership in sync to prevent authorised access. I.e We have an 'All Staff' security group in AD. I wish to create a group in Office 365 for all staff to utilize a sharepoint and team. Instead of manually adding and removing users in both groups, is there a way to manage them all together? Thanks

I am not sure what seamless SSO is, but for us we had to ensure Azure AD Connect was set up and running and the computer object AD Azure creates in AD was active.. i once deleted it as i wasn't sure what it was and broke SSO until i recovered it from AD recycling bin.

It's an SSL client. Staff are manually connecting to the VPN if they need to access it. Not sure how I would be able to run a script after the client connects :\

The GPP use FQDN. Are you suggesting I change them to IP addresses instead? I will change a few to see if the behaviour changes.

Hi all, We use GPP to map network drives. With everyone working from home with laptops and a VPN connection, we are noticing a that users are unable to immediately open mapped network drive after connecting to the VPN. Has anyone come across this before and is there a fix? Most users are able to wait 15 minutes or so, they are able to open the drives. Thanks

Hi all, We've just been called to an IT Suites where a few computers had their login screen background changed to what I would describe as distasteful. I can't figure our how students could have been able to do this, or where the background images are being stored. Can anyone suggest ways to discover where these images could be found in Windows?
