Have you been roped in for this? Because the level where kids can get help with reading questions has been relaxed, we have shedloads who qualify. I spent ages recruiting parents and now a bloody TA is off ill so I'm going to have to do it anyway. That's my mornings wasted this week.

At both my schools I have made it clear that I don't 'do' children and I am not there to babysit a class - and they have taken it so seriously that they never ask me to help out, even though I would happily do so if they were in extremis

I have done in, in the past and as someone has mentioned I have enjoyed it but I haven't got the time this year so i've had to decline the invitation.

Do schools do SATS at different times then?

I spent last week marshalling students, organising movement around school, lots of break duties, calming nervous kids and snarling at those that were likely to play up.

 

I get paid for this sort of thing now though so it is expected, but I don't have a problem with it. Anything that helps things run that bit smoother and helps gets the grades up is good in my book.

I did reading this week and 'looking' after child not doing sats whose TA is off sick. He helped me in the suite (played games).
