Signing up to this because... lets be honest, who'd say no to an SSD. Might actually get my old laptop running reasonable again.

(Tbh I should do this anyway, just checked I'm running an old 128GB ssd I bought... must have been at least 10 years ago now when I started Uni. Certainly doesn't do the i7-4710MQ I've got in there justice anymore xD)

I should win because I never win anything and it's about time I won something so that my life is no longer a series of failures.

I should win as I have four kids to support so there's no money for tech stuff. The school's got no money so no gadgets there either. [emoji24]

But.. but.. that decreases my chances.

Get the pitchforks!

Good luck to all who entered! Although that does seem a bit redundant.. When everyone's super lucky, no-one will be...

Not an actual entry (for reasons stated above), but I couldn't resist.

Cue the soundtrack:

Today's post comes from LeMarchand who, when he was a young man, could only afford a computer with such small disk space that he kept all his precious files on an external disk named Seagate. For years, he and Seagate shared a rich and fulfilling life together, sharing many, many, happy memories and good times. He thought that they would be together forever.

But one day LeMarchand returned home to find that Seagate had gone. One of his housemates had moved out and Seagate had gone with him! LeMarchand cried himself to sleep that night and when he awoke the next morning, he promised to himself that he would never trust another external hard disk again.

Year passed and, although all his friends told him that it was time to move on, LeMarchand could never allow himself to trust another. Then one day, two years ago, he met Transcend. Slowly, LeMarchand learned to trust again and, eventually, shared his life with Transcend.

3 months ago, soon after Transcend had taken over full responsibility for their files, LeMarchand started to notice little irregularities and one morning it took Transcend 30 minutes to wake from sleep. LeMarchand rushed to the Disk Doctor, but the prognosis was terminal. Despite this, Transcend held on until all their shared files had been found safe homes before passing away 4 days ago.

LeMarchand has asked that we play her favourite tune, Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me Round" in memory of all the good times they had together.

After the amount of other techs I have pointed in VeryPC's direction, I feel you owe me this SSD as your number one referrer :0)

And after being posted on our social media channel and to our lovely friends at EduGeek I am delighted to say that, TwistedHelixis you have been randomly selected as our winner! Congratulations! I have sent you a PM to get your address from you!

We'll be launching another competition today for those who missed out so keep your eyes open!

@VeryPC Errrr....

I should win something as I've spent ages thinking up a brilliant answer and the winner was announced before the competition closed :(

It's worse than we have feared... @VeryPC has left us and must have moved to somewhere else inside the EU... VeryPC... take us with you! ;)

I should win because the competition was launched on Friday 24th May, when I was busy giving up my entire Bank Holiday weekend (at my own expense) to accompany our Year 6 on a residential visit to the Lake District. Of course, I would have entered upon my return... if I'd known anything about it.

If only there was a thread I could have already subscribed to called something like, oh I don't know...

VeryPC competitions, events and announcements (never miss another chance to win!)

:pout:

So you're saying if I pretend I missed the deadline I get a consolation prize?

'Cause in that case.....

So, just to clarify not only was the 'draw' held earlier than published/advertised meaning anyone that entered within the legally advertised time but after the draw had taken place had zero chance of winning despite meeting all the requirements of the competition but it was won by a 'random' winner who had won before - sounds like you should change your name from @VeryPC to Very Fishy...
