Surprised I couldnt find anything about this?

Apart from the fact Im slightly annoyed this is now the THIRD different piece of software for online testing we've had to use (why cant they all use the same?) I just wanted to know if its as much of a nightmare as say, Promissor (praying it isnt)

Anyone used it? We've got some Languages tests starting June 9th so we have to install it soon

Yeah, Iv'e used both and both are a PITB.

We were a pilot school for the QCA software and we have asset languages tests due to start next week  and the exams officer hasnt even got the username and password back from CA yet!

And because we have more than 25 students who are doing the test a one time, I have to set up two servers, but they both connect to the same clients.

Why cant it all be done like Cisco or IMI do it.

Ive finally got the relevant username/passwords to finish setting this up

But no client software (Connect Station). No download link for it, nothing.

Have emailed them but as they take about 3 days to reply, if anyone knows how Im supposed to get it I'd love to know

The FTP site they gave me just has the Connect Control installer, nothing else, and Ill be buggered if I can find the client installer in there anywhere

Hi NikChillin,

I've used Cambridge Connect for a while now. What do you mean by the server IP? Are you talking about the IP of the Connect Control machine in which case this is the IP of the machine Connect Control is installed on.

In terms of difficulties getting it working, the software has it's 'quirks' but once you get the idea of how it works it's generally okay to get running and use.

I'm happy to answer any other Connect questions you've got.

Used it again this year, not too many problems, on the server side anyway.

Client side - nightmare. Used the proper upgrade from the old version still on the clients, all looked fine, until the exam started and it wouldnt run because apparantly it was the incorrect version. So a fresh install had to be done on every machine during the exam time.

And the lack of any sort of client deployment or auto updates is a royal PITA
