Thanks, good to know - I was looking at three of the 43" screens for digital signage purposes, it's encouraging to know people who've used them are recommending them.

We use commercial screens from LG just for this purpose....https://www.lg.com/uk/business/information-display/digital-signage/lg-43SE3KB Just saying like as I know of schools that have bought non commercial units and 3 to 6 months down the road they have had to replace them through screen burn and the warranty is of no use as they are being used beyond their purpose... 2

Though, the price increases rapidly with size. 65" commercial is £1050 at least. 1

When I checked, it had lasted five years (backlight went). I have a Samsung and a Vistron (Samsung panel old thing) that are closing on 12 years at this job! Don't dismiss standard TVs outright for the job.

The warranty is void as it's something to do with the normal hours of use per day being exceeded. Some companies use any excuse not to honour warranties/insurance etc I was disappointed that one of our LG non-commercial TVs-as-signage failed what seemed like pretty quickly. Don't dismiss standard TVs outright for the job. We had some old plasmas that only did 1024 x 768 and had burn-in on the screen. But they were still working. We had a Hannspree off eBuyer still going strong after 5x years of 8x hours of use a day including holidays. We did buy a commercial LG TV in the end for one location with a long expected lifespan. YMMV
3s-gtech Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 I think the Vistron is plasma, 1360x768. Two lovely 50” LG plasmas in our hall bought in 2010 - no screen burn and still looking good. It’s that balance of warranty against cost. TVs are pretty durable generally nowadays, but you may get a duff one!
