chewee Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Hello All We have just recieved an email from CCLI wanting a list of all songs that have been used in assemblies etc, as i work at a non-religious school i did not think we would have to keep a list of songs played even if they do have some sort of religious context to them. Am i right in thinking the copyright licenses provided to schools don't require a huge list of songs to be submitted to licensing bodies? Also not sure if this is the right section for this post
Andycat Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Every school has them, it's a bit of a misleading email and (in my opinion) a scam.
jmak Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 IMHO flippin' ridiculous, but: Although the Department for Education now pays for Collective Worship copyright licences for all state-funded schools in England, you are still licensed directly by CCLI.
https://uk.ccli.com/dfe/ Reporting Under the licenceTerms of Agreementit is necessary toreportthe songs you have reproduced under this licence. All reporting must be done using CCLI’sOnline Reporting website. We recommend you do this on an ongoing basis, preferably weekly or as often as songs are reproduced.Further information on reporting.
gpjt Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Had one of these emails today! Scam or do I need to deal with it?
Wirral_Wonderer Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 We have just had a letter about this, I also thought it was scam. However after a quick google - https://www.gov.uk/collective-worship-music-reproduction-licence "...using CCLI’s CopyReport software to report all the songs that have been photocopied under your licence..." Also must be a job for ICT as it is a web based form
jhothersall Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 I got one of these today, and called them it is only for Christian Songs only.
