add printers to chromebooks

Been looking for ages and cannot see a way of doing it. I want to add a printer to a class set of primary chromebooks. They are all in Gsuite but cannot see the option for a printer.

You add it to Google Cloud Print and then share the printer to your users.

Is there a bulk way of adding users?

Is there nothing easier just to set it up, Was just hoping to give it to an OU or create a security group.

I share it as a link, then put the link in the Managed Bookmark assigned to the users/OU.

 

Users login, click link and that’s it. Only have to do it once per user, not per Chromebook

I have done this by creating a Printmanager Admin account. Once you have the service account setup Cloud Print on your print server and setup using the service account. Then login to the Admin console as the service account the navigate to Chrome Management > Device Settings > Other > Cloud Print > Manage and then add the printers to the OU required. Printers will be available on those devices for all users.

If you happen to have paper cut there is another option called Mobility print. Paper cut also helps with Google cloud print setup.

Still struggling with this, all our primary school devices are in Kiosk Mode. Can't believe google made it so complicated just to add a printer!!!

When adding the printer in the admin portal, what did you put in the 'URI' section?

 

We use 'ipp' and specified the IP address of the printer but left the other fields blank.

Same my problem is that the model of our printer is not on there.

Has anyone got this working with a RISO and Papercut? the jobs don't seem to link to the correct user.

It doesn't have the exact model of our printer either, but I chose the nearest match and it works.

Hi at the moment, there is an issue with PaperCut getting a correct url response from Google if you are trying to Google Cloud Print. Something that tripped me up was adding printers to Google Cloud Print, I was initially doing it through the Google portal, it has to be done through PaperCut interface. This ensures that the user mappings are correct and not under the Google account shared.
