RAM & SSD upgrades. What supplier do you use?

We use stone for our new pcs now and will be requesting a quote from them on our return in sept.

 

We're jumping to 10 soon and our "Older" PCs just need their life extending somewhat from 4gb to 8gb and 240 SSD.

 

Never really bought components before as we normally just run them into the ground and replace the pcs at the end of their life cycle.

 

So i guess my question is, "Who do you use?"

 

Needs to be new kit with a warranty.

Novatech and Scan

 

Would be my main 2 places to approach for components. Pretty much any supplier will get you prices, but best off going to the bigger component resellers to find the sharpest pencils i find.

I generally use Paul Topham at IDN Supplies, and we usually go with Kingston for both too - the A400 SSD is a good buy at the moment.

I find eBuyer really competitive for these items.

Completely depends what you want parts wise.

 

I have used Scan, Insight, Aria, ebuyer (tend to avoid them now). For RAM though, almost always go direct to Crucial.

Been solid with Higate ever since Mike Hinchliffe my account manager from former Misco moved to them just prior to the latter going under. Mike always goes far beyond the extra mile and has given me ‘free’ usually next day delivery as well.

Ebuyer - Got 30x 240GB ssds for about £23 each on black friday. £7 off a unit. But they're integral brand so they probably use the cheap ssd memory that doesn't last as long. They have 3 year warranties so should be fine.

 

However we have to buy things with the school credit card as they refuse to give us a business account unless a named person in the accounts department shares personal details with them. We declined to share that info.

We have an Amazon Business Account with Prime. exVAT prices and no extra cost deliveries.

 

I can get a Kingston A400 120GB SSD for £17.84 EX VAT on prime today. or £26.76 for the WD Green 240GB.

 

(every penny counts here and although the 240gb is best value 120 is all they need.)
