Recording video and burning to Playable DVD on DVD player

Hi all.

 

What do people use these days to burn videos to DVDs that are playable.

We want to give all parents our year 6 performance and I have managed to get a good test recording on one of our iPads.

 

I can convert this MOV file into most formats using Format Factory.

But its getting this file onto a DVD that will play in as many TVs as possible.

 

What do you use? We have limited time to purchase any software really. So free would be good if possible.

Used Windows DVD maker in the past.

We've used Windows DVD maker in the past but you'll need a windows 7 PC for it.

I now use DVDStyler https://www.dvdstyler.org/en/, which works on Windows 10, is free, and is rather good at transcoding multiple formats without needing another program to do so first (like Windows DVD Maker did).

+1 for dvdstyler. Had to make a family DVD in a hurry and this was awesome.

Definitely +1 for DVDStyler.

And +1 for checking the copyright and licensing terms of each piece of music etc or production rights if a musical / play to make sure you're legally allowed to do so! If it was a fixed work (eg: Wizard of Oz) then you're usually licensed for performance only, not recording. And check with your DPO & DSL for any issues regarding permissions for students featured.
