MrGAWilson Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Wondering if anyone out there currently uses or has recently used VeryPC for their hardware? Any feedback greatly appreciated 1
lmrogers Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 I have used them before. Been very helpful and their laptops have always been good for what they were being used for. 2
TechMonkey Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 (edited) We bought Glides for throughout the school back in 2015. Have had very few issues and any have been sorted without delay. We also have a smattering of Nano and Nano silents, all great too. We have had one fail, but I think that was a fan gummed up with child. The customisation means they look fantastic, especially when used in prominent area of the school. One of the reasons we went with them was they were the only company that gave us what we wanted, quickly and clearly. Both Dell and HP were in the tender process and I had to chase both of them for quotes and then get them to re-quote multiple times as they had not given us what we wanted. I think Dell gave up responding in the end. HP even had what we wanted but couldn't seem to order the bits, with them not knowing if the part had not been released yet or was discontinued. If you have any specific questions do drop a line. Edited June 26, 2018 by TechMonkey 2
LeMarchand Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 The IT Suite at one of my schools is VPC. Very happy with the kit. Had some bad memory in one when we got it that was swapped out immediately and since then have only had a problem with one other that's being dealt with under warranty. They're also one of my "regular" places I go to for quotes for general kit. 3
Fazza Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 We've used them a few times and Colin is far, far, far too happy - I don't know what they put in his tea/coffee but it certainly keeps hims cheery all the time! We get their tamper resistant/proof cases where the cables are locked away at the rear of the PC so the little rascals can't remove or mess about with them. We've always had great service from them/Colin. 2
hardtailstar Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Not bought anything recently but will agree Colin is far too happy and really good service. 2
simonw Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 I've used VeryPC for interactive flat panels, smartboards and projectors and have had no issues with the quality of service. The very few warranty issues I've had have been dealt with quickly. 3
mikeprice Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Used them a few times - always been helpful and efficent - and the prices are great as well would have started to use them as a standard supplier but retirement looked more attractive 3
DannyG555 Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Very helpful at the sales stage and advice for solutions is reasonably good. Very good pricing and value for money. However, I have unfortunately experienced several issues with their aftercare support through warranty. Some repairs have been poor and there have been issues with turnaround times. Because of this it does make me re-consider making future purchases with them.... 1
sparkeh Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Yep we have kitted out the school in Broadleaf for the desktop and Thinbooks for the teachers. Really good service at every stage. Had a couple of issues with dead SSDs but support was really good and actually listened to the troubleshooting steps I had taken and sent a new one out for next day delivery. The customisation options are good too. Slap a smart school logo on your machine and runs at least 10% faster. Its a fact!* *not actually a fact. 2
VeryPC_Colin_M Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Thank you all very much for the kind feedback, you've sent me off home with a smile on my happy face tonight 1
mikeprice Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 how much longer does this thread have to go on for before Colin get a pay rise??? 1
hardtailstar Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 how much longer does this thread have to go on for before Colin get a pay rise??? Im sure there was another thread about Colin, hopefully he did then too 1
VeryPC_Colin_M Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 +1 for the pay rise!!! (it'll never happen though LOL)

dhicks Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Wondering if anyone out there currently uses or has recently used VeryPC for their hardware? Any feedback greatly appreciated Just to mostly echo the posts above: yes, we use them a fair bit, and are very happy with the equipment and service. We have their snazzy all-in-ones in most of the classrooms, where they are capable of driving 4k touch screens, and we've just taken delivery of one of their Ultrabooks which we plan to start trying out as a portable solution for some users. We've also dealt with them in the past for server upgrades and AV installs, for which their help and advice was invaluable. 3
TwistedHelixis Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Along with Colin I find Ross is also very easy to chat with. I never feel pushed in to a purchase which means I will use them as a preferred supplier. Support is great, much better than Dell etc and I am always kept in the loop in regards to repairs, even if there is a delay in fixing they have always been very upfront and honest about the issue they are having. 3
ICTDirect_Dave Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Top company! We've done business with them supplier to supplier and they're lovely Col and Al are great fun at trade shows and events too I can't believe nobody has mentioned the Stocktober events of years past either! 4
robyholmes Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Another very happy customer of VeryPC having dealt with Colin & Ross. Always helpful and like others have said can get you what you want, rather than what's currently on special offer. I'm even waiting on kit from them now! 3
clockend25 Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 We've had laptops from them in the past but unfortunately both the hardware and the subsequent support was found to be less than great.
Blue_Cookeh Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Realise I forgot to mention service and thought they definitely deserved the praise. Colin is always crazy quick and helpful with our day to day stuff, Ross was brilliant with our A/V stuff last year, and John managed to figure out the mess that is Microsoft licensing for us a month or two back - all top notch people over there 3
gazlee Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Absolutely brilliant, we buy all our PCs and Laptops from them now. Incredibly helpful, honest and knowledgeable with everything from ordering to delivery. We get our machines pre-imaged and asset tagged at the factory so when they arrive they just need adding to the domain and putting on the desk. Warranty service has been great too, usually next day on-site. Special shout out to @VeryPC_Tom_B who looks after our account and always goes the extra mile to help us out! We have also used them for a lot of our more recent AV installations, the guys they sent were super efficient and tidy with the whole job. 3
hardtailstar Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 I can't believe nobody has mentioned the Stocktober events of years past either! You went there! please dont bring up the bad memories of being told its not happening! The bad photoshops, weird conversations, not working.... oh the memories 3
