Kids Can't Tell Time

I still maintain that, like cursive handwriting, reading analogue clocks is a skill that's becoming less important in this modern digital society.

We put today's school pupils through an old tech challenge - BBC News

Until recently I worked in a Primary school and helped with supervising or being a reader in SATS each year

 

in every case the room clock was ANALOG and the kids managed fine in spite of it being a low performing school

 

so the kids had clearly been taught to use these clocks

also every classroom had a clock in it - and they were all analog - deliberatly

 

I would suggest that the kids at GCSE have simply forgotten how to use these clocks because they haven't actually done it for many years rather than it being the school's fault

 

mind you - every if the school's fault in some peoples view
