stevejp Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 What a coincidence... those are a few of my favourite things. You guys should try and get a song out of that - after all, who doesn't enjoy the sound of music in the morning....? 2
Rawns Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 The first BBQ of the season! Bottle of beer in hand, shorts, flipflops, the smell of copious quantities of grilled meats. Bliss!
AMLinington Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Watching the sunrise and listening to the birds while walking the dog. It has been lovely to watch it getting lighter in the mornings Agreed! I am looking forward to that glorious period in Spring and Autumn where the days are just long enough to be productive, but the weather is mild without being too hot, humid or miserable. 1
witch Posted February 20, 2018 Author Posted February 20, 2018 Unexpectedly meeting one of my children when out for a walk. It's so nice to see them as others see them ( unbelievably gorgeous, of course!) before recognition kicks in.

crc-ict Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 In my MGF, sun shining, roof down. Getting to the open road, putting my foot down, holding on to that lower gear for just a bit longer than normal and enjoying the throaty rasp of the exhaust as I head for the horizon. 2

Patrick Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 (edited) The smell of petrol. The sound of a storm and rain hitting the window whilst be tucked up in bed. After having one of my many night terrors, hearing my girlfriend say "...it's just a dream, go back to sleep". Struggling with a technique/combination, then pulling it off flawlessly in sparring. Vaardu Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 The smell of petrol. I used to smell of it when I went to college on my scooter. On the topic of little things that make me happy, I guess finding some listings of computers or toys from childhood do.
Scifigirl Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Finding a book that makes me laugh and smile and feel for the characters. A good film that does the same. Seeing my niece smile and listening to her sing (from several rooms away!!) Warm bath, clean sheets, and proper sleep.

Popular Post crc-ict Posted February 22, 2018 Popular Post Posted February 22, 2018 My daughter came downstairs yesterday to tell me about the 'cool' game console the had been talking about on her favourite YouTube channel - called a Game Boy! Got a big smile inside when I went to the cupboard and pulled out my original Game Boy to show her and let her play on. I love sharing things from my childhood with my kids, and it's not often you find something that they still think is cool! 6
StevieM Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 A warm greeting from someone who is genuinely really happy to see you... and not because they want something!
HarryMonkey Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 A warm greeting from someone who is genuinely really happy to see you... and not because they want something! I'm lucky, I get that every day when I get home.
6Foot2 Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Watching the Business Manager a slinky fall down the stairs. 1
witch Posted March 9, 2018 Author Posted March 9, 2018 Hearing a text arrive and seeing that it is one of my children - yes, I'm a soppy mum 2
AJWhite1970 Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 It's my youngest daughters 16th birthday today - that makes me happy for a multitude of reasons 2
36Degrees Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Watching the different birds that visit our garden. Seeing the Robin and the Blackbird appear and sit about 3 feet away from me when I'm sorting the ground feeder. 1
Helen25 Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Freshly ironed sheets, driving my car, pizza, and last but not least my kids!:cheer2: 1
6Foot2 Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Freshly ironed sheets, driving my car, pizza, and last but not least my kids!:cheer2: @Helen25: Is that list complete? It's a very short list if it is.
witch Posted March 9, 2018 Author Posted March 9, 2018 It's not about a long list, it is about the small things in life - and you may only be able to think of one 1
6Foot2 Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 It's not about a long list, it is about the small things in life - and you may only be able to think of one Clarification: It wasn't intended as a criticism. 1
witch Posted March 9, 2018 Author Posted March 9, 2018 No, I know I was really thinking of it as a place to share something that had just made you happy or you had just thought about that minute 1
