minimoo Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) I've asked today - "The version number will be 3.6.14.616, you will need to check the details for the hmpalert.exe found in C:\Program Files (x86)\HitmanPro.Alert to confirm this." Still planned to be coming out today but they will be updating when it's complete. And on that note: i'd wait a few days before doing anything with sims to allow enough time for the update to hit all the workstations. Edited December 12, 2017 by minimoo

thatley Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 The new version will >= 3.6.14.616 Ours just came through. Requires a PC reboot to take effect. Trying in about 20 mins!
thatley Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 BINGO!!!! Looks like it actually works. Just deployed from a GPO script and went through no problem. Just about to try a SIMSINST.exe install. Anyone tried SOLUS yet?
newpersn Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 How you forcing updates? Are you opening Sophos Endpoint> About > Check for updates?
thatley Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) How you forcing updates? Are you opening Sophos Endpoint> About > Check for updates? As I was checking the version of Hitman about an hour ago, it literally just came down to our PC's, so just through the normal "check for updates every 60 minutes" policy. The updated version only shows in "About" after a reboot of the PC. Otherwise check "hitmanpro.exe" file version as per "minimoos" last post. Edited December 12, 2017 by thatley
minimoo Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 "We have now released a new build of HitmanPro.Alert (3.6.14.616) which will resolve the upgrade issues identified within CAPITA SIMS and/or NHS CRS. To confirm you are now running the correct version please check the details tab on the file C:\Program Files (x86)\HitmanPro.Alert\hmpalert.exe A special release process has been completed for this release. Only customers who we have deemed to be affected by these issues will have this update. This will continue roll-out in the new year and all customers will have this update on the 9th January 2018 (Subject to change) If you have noticed that you do not have this update please contact Sophos Technical Support for further assistance." Although reading that, whilst i'm a single school, If I was an LA, I'd probably be inclined to wait pushing lots of schools until the 9th January now - at least, I wonder how they've determined what customers will be affected; as not all schools run sims, and presumably not all sims schools have been in contact with them.
IanMac Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Is there a download link/path to this update? Hit update on a client and restarted. Still same issue with SIMS so guess not updating. What is the very latest s/w version when you look at 'About'? This client is....

newpersn Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 This is the version with updated InterceptX I got a case open with Sophos, Lets see how long they take to action it.... (ive reference the case number on here) 1
IanMac Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 All sorted for us now thanks folks. SIMS (manually installs fine) We were entered into the early release beta program and those files weren't updated it seems. All good now (for now )
newpersn Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Just had this email from Sophos. Hello Newpersn, My name is Adithyan and I am part of the escalation team here at Sophos. Your case has been escalated to myself. I have looked into your query about not receiving the upgraded version of Intercept X. Currently the rollout has just started on 12 Dec 2017 for newer version hitmapro/Intercept X. Since this is a major update addressing critical issues, to prevent any downtime of our rollout update servers, the updates are rolled out in a gradual way through a period of time till 09 Jan 2018. Unlike definition updates which are immediate and simultaneously released to all of our user right away, these are product updates which are deployed to our users only through a period of time. In case you have not yet received the update, Kindly please wait and we can have a check for the upgraded version by 9th of Jan 2018. Please note that we prioritize all our customers the same way and the update rollouts are merely based on an automated computation. Hope you can grant us the requested timeline to ensure you receive a stable release of our update. Thanks and regards, So we have to wait until the 9th of Jan..... Don’t think we can hold off til Jan for upgrade sims.
minimoo Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Where i've asked sophos to close my case (as it's fixed), i've just added a note to it with that response as it would seem they haven't quite identified all affected customers - so bouncing queries seems a bit silly. From what i've seen, i'd be pushing for the update even if I don't run sims - the Hitman pro update has fixed issues I had been seeing related to Microsoft Office, Netsupport, Sims, and Smart so far. In terms of Jan and upgrading sims - you could probably wait - at least Jan census isn't learning aims etc - and office staff might like a break over xmas !

kennysarmy Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 Is there anyway to find out from Sophos Central if a PC is on the latest hitman pro version? Save me sending a technician to visit all the SIMS PC's before we push out the latest version!

Save me sending a technician to visit all the SIMS PC's before we push out the latest version! From what I've seen, if you've got Endpoint 11.5.10, you should have latest HitmanPro. If you have Centrastage/Kaseya type products, you can search for that version. Not sure if that helps you or not?
thatley Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 PS, can't see any way of viewing version from Sophos Central Console. Would be really useful if you could! 1

They pushed the update down in the end. Had 200 Computers updated via our caching server within 15mins....
deano3693 Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Is anyone else having issues with new SOLUS Installs since the upgrade to Hitman Pro - When we push SOLUS to a new machine it just sits on the 'install active' and never completes. Remove Sophos Intercept X, Reboot, try again and it works so looks like another potential intercept X issue. Anyone else getting the same? 1
minimoo Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I'd offer to test that scenario tomorrow as i've still got original case open with sophos but we use the script method to install the client. When it's in the 'install active' state, is the solus installer showing as running task manager? and do you have an agent installer log you could send me? I can probably try a agent push install as a test if needed.

This is VERY worrying as I was going to push out SIMS.net to about 100 PC's tomorrow! We have tested that since the Hitman Pro gets updated it will allow our current SIMS version to get pushed out, but we have the Autumn release pending - is it that that's not deploying out OK?

Hi, no the upgrade pushes out fine to existing agents. It's only if the agents are broken/appearing offline despite the machine being online or are not installed such as a newly built/imaged machine that I've got issues.
