New phones you would suspect and a new version of iOS :)

 

I hope so, I will be keeping my eye on the phones. :) Then decide if I go with the older (aka current at time of typing) or the new iPhone.

 

Hmmm, just thinking... if they release a Mac with GeForce cards (as they did long ago), we might loose @DalekSec to the shiney side. ;)

iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra will be released to the public. New Apple Watch that is rumoured to be more independent from an iPhone. iPhone 7S / iPhone 8 / iPhone whatever naming convention they go for this time. Maybe something about the HomePod speaker that's coming out at the end of the year.

iOS 11 GM leak confirms D22 ‘iPhone 8’ features: Portrait Lighting, True Tone Display, revised AirPods, much more

 

There even appears to be some more fun in iOS 11 that we haven’t seen yet. Something referenced as Jellyfish Animoji that appears to be 3D, animated versions of emoji characters for iMessage and will use facial tracking and your voice to create expressive animated messages.

iOS 11 GM leak seemingly leaks LTE Apple Watch with new face and Digital Crown

 

We’re still digging through the new iOS 11 GM firmware, and we’ve unearthed what we believe is the new LTE Apple Watch Series 3 that will be announced on Tuesday. The new Apple Watch makes a brief appearance in the Watch app sporting a red-accented digital crown, a signal meter, and complications that further hint at wireless LTE connectivity.

We’re only a few days from Apple’s big fall iPhone event, but the big news tonight is the leaked iOS 11 GM firmware that we received this evening. The iOS 11 GM firmware, which should be pushed next week to developers, includes several brand new wallpapers, three exclusive to the upcoming iPhone, including seven sure-to-be-popular retro-styled versions and an all-black wallpaper fit for OLED displays.

iPhone X: Software leak confirms name, features, and specs

 

Apple's latest and greatest iPhone is called the iPhone X, according to information pulled from a leaked "Gold Master" of iOS 11, the operating system said to power the new phone.

 

The same software leak also reveals the existence of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, which are based on a similar design to the existing iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

 

Unlike the iPhone 8, the iPhone X features an all-new design with an edge-to-edge 5.8-inch OLED display that removes the chunky bezels and home button. The design—which was originally shown in a separate software leak earlier this year—is a dramatic departure from iPhones to date, which have largely kept the same front-facing aesthetic since the launch of the original in 2007. By shrinking the bezels, much like Samsung did with the Galaxy S8, Apple can cram a larger display into a smaller body, making the device more comfortable to use with one hand.

 

In addition to confirmation on the iPhone X name, the iOS 11 GM also revealed other key specifications and features. Code inside the software suggests the iPhone X is powered by a new A11 fusion SoC, which features a six-core processor. Four are so-called "Mistral" high-performance cores, while the other two are low-power "Monsson" cores. By comparison, the A10 SoC that powers the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus features two high-performance cores and two low-power cores. The iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus sport 3GB of RAM, while the iPhone 8 contains just two.

I will be watching as I do find my 6 plus could do with an upgrade now. It's lasted well but it is 3 years old now.

I am getting more tempted with android with the various changes the os has made but not quite enough to make the jump.

I'm in the same boat, but given the rumoured pricing structure, I can't see myself getting this generation or even the next generation! :(

I am hoping the pricing won't be as crazy as the rumours but then again others have started pushing the boat out. The galaxy note is starting to get close to it now.

I went from a 5 to a 6 and as soon as the SE came out i was there on launch day dying for the smaller phone again. So whilst i may love the tech Apple announce today i do not want to give up the smaller form factor phone, the 6 was too big and i'm 6ft 3 with big hands. So it would have to have something extremely amazing for me to go back to a bigger phone.

 

Going by the rumours it will be interesting to see a proper implementation of using your face to unlock the phone unlike Samsung who rushed it and so can be unlocked using a photo.

I suppose there's always the iPhone 8/8 Plus if the X proves to be too expensive. No doubt they will start at the same price as the outgoing models. :)

Brexit hasn’t even happened yet and Apple already charging £1 to $1 ��

 

iPhone X: £999 ($999)

iPhone 8: £699 ($699)

iPhone 8 Plus ($799)

 

They have been doing that for a long time. We do have 20% VAT as well.

Actually that is very true. All prices in the US are WITHOUT sales tax (their equivalent of VAT)

 

The UK prices will include VAT.

 

How much sales tax you pay will vary from state to state, but you will have to add on a percentage depending on which state the purchaser lives in.

£0.75 to the dollar, therefore $999 is £752. 20% VAT makes £902ish. I’m guessing the rest goes on import duties, tariffs plus the cost of doing business in another country etc. I have no doubt that more ends up in Apple’s back pocket but I don’t think it’s that pronounced.
