The plus models are where i'd look first. Crucially battery life in a plus is much better than it's smaller sibling.

 

I went to the Apple store and tried out a six and a six plus before i settled on the bigger model.

 

It took a little while to feel natural in my hand but after a day or so it was fine.

 

The screen on my 6 plus is still gorgeous, the camera still pretty amazing and the battery lasts a day and a half despite being 2 years old :)

Maybe, but I seem to get that for the fingerprint scanner on my iPad Mini sometimes, even though the Mini has been on and not rebooted.

 

If I recall there is a time out well but I can't remember how long it is.

 

The plus phones also have more battery which is nice. To be honest it's slightly too huge for me, I would like one between the 6 and plus for size.

Apple's new iPhone 8 and iPhone X implement USB Power Delivery over Lightning, very similar to the iPad Pro 12.9" and 10.1" for high voltage charging.

 

While this means that the phones themselves won't have USB Type-C ports, with the right C-to-Lightning cable, you'll be able to use them with the same power sources that charge laptops and other Type-C devices such as Pixel phones.

iPhone 8 and iPhone X fast charge battery to 50% in 30 minutes, if you buy USB-C power adapter

 

iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X support fast charging. You can go from 0 to 50% charge in 30 minutes… but you need an Apple USB-C charger and Lightning cable (sold separately).

 

More specifically, one of three USB-C wall chargers. Apple sells 29W, 61W and 87W variants of its USB-C power adapters. Prices range from $49 to $79.

 

Apple doesn’t break out specific numbers on how each model affects charging times, it’s not clear if the cheapest 29W model can achieve the advertised 50% recharge in 30 minutes.

AppleCare+ Priced at $199 for iPhone X, $149 for iPhone 8 Plus

 

All of those high-end components don't come cheap, with pricing on the device starting at $999 for the 64GB version. As it turns out, AppleCare+ for the iPhone X will also be more expensive, at $199.

 

That's a $70 premium over AppleCare+ for the 8, which is priced at $129, the same price as AppleCare+ for the iPhone 7. AppleCare+ for the iPhone 8 Plus will cost $149, with Apple raising the AppleCare+ pricing for all of its Plus models by $20. Prior to today, AppleCare+ for larger-screened devices was $129, but with the new price change, AppleCare+ for iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone 6s Plus costs $149.

 

AppleCare+ for iPhone X will extend warranty coverage of the device to two years from the original date of purchase, and it will cover two incidents of accidental damage. Apple will charge $29 to replace a damaged screen, or $99 for any other damage. These fees, interestingly, have not gone up in price.

 

AppleCare+ will need to be purchased alongside the new iPhone X or within 60 days. Coverage includes the iPhone itself, the battery, and the included earphones and accessories.

 

Out of warranty screen repair costs are not available for the iPhone X as of yet, but for the iPhone 8 Plus, repairs cost $169. For the iPhone 8, repairs cost $149. That's a $20 increase across the board compared to previous repair costs. These new higher repair costs also apply to the iPhone 7, iPhone 6s, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone 6s Plus.

Lol didn't realise it was a little bigger. I wish they had not got rid of the 128GB size as I planned to get that.

Yeah. The X is much closer in size to the 6/6s than it is to the Plus.

 

The Plus looks gigantic now especially considering it has a smaller screen than the X! :)

I wish they had not got rid of the 128GB size as I planned to get that.

Without the 128GB model it's easier to get people to buy the 256GB iPhone X for an extra £150. :(

Had a play with the X in an Apple Store earlier. Does have a 'wow' factor coming from the 6 Plus, but the screen seems to be more narrow - although the new OLED is eye popping and makes my 6 screen look very dull and washed out!

 

However £1,149 (256GB, not much point in going 64GB!) is a no go sadly
