[1709, fcu] Date Released for Fall Creators Update

Tried to install the new boot image from 1709 into SCCM and now machines won't boot, they get into the System Center screen and then restart. Re-Installing 1703 now.

 

Anyone else tried this yet?

Errmm... so I had to reinstall the admin tools but there seems to be no DNS in it?? Everything else is there.

Impact: WS_1709 RSAT package users

Resolution: Use the WS2016 RSAT package

 

Interestingly, DNS was missing initially from the tools last time there was an update as well.

Windows 10 Enterprise 1709

Just like with Windows 10 Enterprise 1703, you can find the language packs by selecting "Windows 10 Enterprise Language Packs" and then specifying "MultiLanguage" in the drop-down.

 

Just checked myself and the language pack for 1709 is there.

Ahh, it works if I select 'MultiLanguage' as in your screenshot. If I select English or English International then I just get the Nov15 one. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Anyone got the new OneDrive client working with Files on Demand without having to manually update it?

 

Seems like I have to reboot after first login, manually update then reboot again for it to upgrade to the 2017 version correctly.

Issue

Office documents open slower after Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

 

Solution

In Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, the active Antivirus product can dynamically scan Office documents via the Antivirus API for Office when you open them. This helps the active Antivirus product to detect malicious documents that obfuscate malicious content by employing techniques like document encryption. This scanning occurs with all versions of Office documents and could result in a delay of up to 1 second per document.

 

Microsoft is investigating this issue and will post an update here once the issue is resolved. For more information on this new behaviour, see Introduction to the Antivirus API Reference for Office.

Enabling this policy means every single new user in your tenant to turn on OneDrive will default to online-only files.
