Anyone having problems with youtube on LGfL?

Have severe restricted on and has been fine for ages. But now unrestricted videos (that you would see when not logged in) play fine. Restricted videos do not when logged in. The video comes up as being unavailable but the sound happily plays in the background.

Happening at two of our LGfL schools.

...and that's a no. "Afraid we have no contacts within Google/YouTube to raise this with".

I'll see if I can get it escalated by someone in G Suite support unless anyone else has any bright ideas.

I managed to get YouTube working properly under my LGfL connection by adding Conditional Forwarders on my DNS server. (This was advised by Atomwide)

The URLs you need forwarders for are:

googleapis.com

youtube.com

youtube-nocookie.com

Just add Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) as the master servers for those 3 URLs. YouTube should then start behaving again.

For us it doesn't work away from the domain either so not sure if this would be a fix for us.

I'm also having the same problem where restricted videos show as unavailable but the audio quite happily plays in the background. And I've lost all ability to approve videos.

I've been told that someone at YouTube is looking into this.

Lets hope so, I didn't have much when I spoke to Google, although I'm not in LGfL and are using Schools Broadband so its not just and issue with your internet connection.

G Suite support have washed their hands of it and said raise it on the Youtube Help Forums and if enough people do that then someone from Youtube will take notice. Hopefully if you have heard someone is looking at it then something should happen soon.

Having the same problem, phoned support I have a ticket number, and I have emailed our Google Account Manager....hopefully they can help.

We did have this issue with a staff member, Clearing browsing data seemed to resolve it.

It took a while for G Suite Support to admit it was an issue their end rather than Youtube Support. The issue was resolved on Friday.

This has now resolved itself for me,

Alphabet's machine learning is good, but not that good. There were definitely(*) people involved in fixing this.
