GAFE - Anyone Else's YouTube Been a bit Janky Today?

Needs refreshing for a video to work, no comments nor suggested videos show.

Had the mail through saying Google will be tinkering with a bunch of garbage in GAFE to upset us all, but that's not due until 1st August.

Anyone else? Just me even?

Ta. :/

We have one super admin who only sees videos but no comments or suggested videos. No ability to approve videos either. I have reported it to gsuite support today. Was working fine until last week.

Have you still got this going on? We have it seems, might prod Google some more.

Not in work today but yes it's still going on. Support were going to ring me back today but basically said it's YouTube and outside of the g suite support system so they can't help. They did ask us to check if it happened from another network or from home. Will update this thread tomorrow.

Yeah they're properly keen on trotting that out. Okay, I'll prod some more anyway if only to add a bit more voice to it. Will also update here.

It seems to have spread now from the 1 super admin account to mine too. Neither of us can view unapproved videos or approve any that are needed.

Do you find that you can view the video though if you refresh the page?

Google support suggested updating Chrome, but I've done this and had no change. Weirdly enough, my test staff accounts work fine today, as do the student accounts, but with me as admin no joy; only get sound and no video until I refresh the page, then after no suggested videos nor comments nor ability to approve.

Yes refresh allows us to play the video but same as you for comments/suggested videos and approvals.

Which filtering solution do you use? Just wondering as we use Smoothwall.

Just been told by my team that we have the same issue here too. We also use Smoothwall. Strange how it's not affecting all accounts as mine is fine but other admins and some staff have the issue. Has anyone heard anything from Google yet?

i contacted G Suite Support but they said Youtube is not covered under G Suite so to go on Youtube Support Forum to raise it there. The lady from G Suite is still looking at possible causes but only as a courtesy.

Thanks @fiza, Do you have a link to the YouTube Support Forum case that you have opened so that I can add some weight to it please?

EDIT - Scrap that, I think I've found your post.

We aren't with LGfL. I don't believe that it is down to filtering or ISP as we have staff with the same issue from home. It seems to be something janky (good word BTW) with Google's settings. I've tried throwing a few switches in the Admin Panel but to no avail.

Reply I got from Securly when I contacted them (thought it might be content filter related):

"We are aware of some changes Youtube is making with their UI and we are currently working to ensure we do not run into any problems with that. This issue seems to have something to do with Youtube using Polymer in the new UI which can cause the pages to refresh constantly. We are very close to the fix for this being released, but I'm not sure when that will officially be released. The problems you're experiencing I'm not sure are related to those changes or something else Youtube may be working on. Thank you for bringing this to our attention though."
