nicholab Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Do any of you ever wear a bow tie to work? I really fancy wearing a tie it yourself bow tie.
FN-GM Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I don't have a normal tie never mind a bow tie. However a teacher does at one of the schools, it suits him and looks pretty cool.
SpuffMonkey Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Go for it! Quite practical I spose as it won't get tangled up
6Foot2 Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Do any of you ever wear a bow tie to work? I really fancy wearing a tie it yourself bow tie. And a fez to go with it?
Oaktech Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 I don't wear a tie, much too dangly and impractical, and my bow tie is reserved for black tie/evening dress events, however... I do occasionally wear a cravat, I have several, a classic burgundy paisley, a blue micro paisley and an orange silk one, I find they work quite well.
3s-gtech Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 There is always the risk that you'll look less Matt Smith's Doctor and more Reg Holdsworth.
PotNoodleTech Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Yeh I do, it fits in the with rest of my attire. 1
rad Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 One of the doctors at our surgery wears a bow tie and it suits him too.
synaesthesia Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Ugh, impractical, useless clothing Does it serve a purpose? If not, it doesn't belong in one's wardrobe and certainly not dangling round a neck looking like it's ready to spin round and squirt water out.
6Foot2 Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 -> What cool thing(s) did u do today? Because bow ties are cool.
LeMarchand Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Ugh, impractical, useless clothing Does it serve a purpose? If not, it doesn't belong in one's wardrobe Part of the purpose of clothes is to alter other people's perception of you, though.
Danp Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 I don't wear a tie at work, just shirt and trousers but I will need to more often soon so might go for a bow tie now and again!
6Foot2 Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 I don't wear a tie at work, just shirt and trousers... Barefoot Dan! 1
synaesthesia Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Part of the purpose of clothes is to alter other people's perception of you, though. Indeed, like some people make an active decision to wear a man bun/fedora fully knowing what that makes people think of them If I see someone with a bow tie, I will happily assume they are either Bill Nye the Science Guy, a clown or a snooker player.
LeMarchand Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 If I see someone with a bow tie, I will happily assume they are either Bill Nye the Science Guy, a clown or a snooker player. ...or MI5?
synaesthesia Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Craig doesn't count as Bond. Brosnan all the way for me I like cheesy comedy.
