Nope, because gambling is a mugs game...

I might put a quid on. I can just about afford that and it won't turn me in to an addict... I hope.

Mrs. P had Tiger Roll this year. Another winner!

She chose the horse because our son likes Tiger bread.

:) :thumb:

Both Mrs P and I had the same horse this year: Vintage Clouds: He fell at the first, and I think he was the first to fall.

:(

Edit: Winner: Tiger Roll at 4/1 Favourite.

Thats the wonderful thing about the Grand Natioanl around here - people putting bets on who never bet at any other time of the year - and for really sweet reasons

My Mum insisted on doing it every year - at the VERY dodgy shack just down the road where only men ever went - except on Grand National day when the place was full off middle aged and older women asking for help in how to do it

Strange thing - my Dad grew up on Melling lane (the race course crosses it) - and my wife's in-laws live only a few hundred yards from the same place - in spite of neither me of my wife growing up anywhere near the place (still in civilisation - i.e. plastic and wooly back land) but it all seems to have come back to Aintree

This year, 5Foot2 has selected "Duffle Coat" because:

  1. When I was younger, I almost always wore a duffle coat.
  2. My mum used to favour greys in horse races (much to the annoyance of my dad, who was a keen on placing bets on horse races)

*5Foot2 has no expectation of winning.

Edit: She was right; Duffle Coat did not finish (second to fall, I think)

I had £5 E/W on the winner at 25/1 - will be buying some new summer golf shoes with my winnings - this race is the only horse race I bet an E/W stake on, the only other horse races I gamble on are a couple of daily accumulators when the Gold Cup is on in Cheltenham :D
