PC Refresh, all in one PC's

Hello everyone,

 

I am looking into replacing our computers around the school with all in one PC's, currently we have the old RM all in PC's which were great. We have a lot of issues of pupils pulling cables out of PC's etc. I am looking for an alternative, preferably ones which have some cable management so the children cannot disconnect keybaord or mouse and hard glassed ones would be better. I have looked at a couple of alternative but no jump out at me. I want to know what other people use at schools which are similar?

The Flex range from @VeryPC looks similar. The ones we had didn't have hard glass, but I assume that they could source something if you don't mind paying the difference!

HP EliteOne 800's here. All cabled connections behind a torx locked panel.

We use Dell Optiplex 3030 and HP Pro 1 400 G2 All in ones, both come with cable management which has a casing to torx screw in to cover usb cables, both expose the power and network cables.

 

To combat the other cables going missing we cable tie them to the computers

You must have more compliant students than we do. The cable ties we put in place are gone again almost as soon as we leave the room (slight exaggeration, but you get the idea...)

haha I said to combat the other cables going missing, it doesn't always prevent them going missing!

Viglen integras - we have had very little failures and they can do great pricing that no one else can touch for same spec as long as you buy in bulk

Yep, I think Flex Micro or Flex with height adjustable monitor mount kit and a hard glass monitor would work perfectly. They each have a cable shroud but the Flex has a pass through hole in the chassis for the KB/M USB leads, and the cable shroud you see can be secured with a locking screw or thumb screw - the USB and Audio Header you see in the pic below has been moved from the front fascia to the side panel for ease of access, but you could keep that on the front fascia too. Not a beautiful solution but hits the mark wonderfully and would work out less than an equivalent All in One for security Feel free to get in touch with me for pricing and evaluation @JHLEHS.

+1 for the VeryPC Flex... we've just installed our third batch and also run a few machines based on the chassis used by the smaller Flex Micro (I'd stick with the bigger ones as pictured personally)... our first batch from 2014 have weathered really well and the metal branding plates give them that something extra.

Hardtailstar, I have seen the Dell Optiplex models and I was concerned about the screens they look a bit flimsy. What are the screens like on the HP Pro one? Would you say these are stronger?

Had the same problems - VeryPC flex's sorted that out, however we bought some security screws just to make sure. Give Colin a shout he was great to us (other VeryPC employees are available....).
